Good morning!
Joe, sorry to hear about your continued GI distress. Hope it runs it's course.
Whatever was going on with me seems to have run its course, although I'm a bit tired. I made it to hot yoga yesterday.
My sister is here and seems to have reconciled with her daughter. Although it's probably shaky because they have a pattern of dysfunction. This last estrangement last a couple of years and was a source of great distress for my sister. I'm very annoyed that my sister is here and didn't tell me and hasn't contacted me. I'm sure her focus is her family, but really?
Anyway, not much going on today. Hope you guys are well and have a good day.
Hello all!
Tweety, glad you are feeling better.
Joe, shaking my head, concerned about ya! I hope you soon feel better (good that work was lighter yesterday!).
The bluegrass festival was very nice, with great weather: 81-85 degrees, 55% or less humidity. We had some good jams, some nattering, slept pretty well even after staying up till midnight for jamming. Went out for a meal X3, to the Coyote Cafe in nearby berg of Vista. Great food!
Our band's bass player is planning on moving to Tennessee, come October. It's a good move for them, to be near their (grown) kids and grand-kids. They already have friends and music contacts in Nashville (he will probably move his studio there). We will greatly miss him, as we have worked with him in the studio since 2008, and he has been our bass player/vocalist since 2017. Big shoes to fill!
We did ask another bass player if he would consider joining the band. He has the same first name as our current bassist, and is very experienced and seems flexible: he is currently in a bluegrass band and in a jazz band. He agreed to join our band too! So, we will still have a bass player and vocalist, though it will be a different personality! We need to schedule a couple practices, so he gets used to our arrangements, and we can work on getting vocals to blend.
When we got home, we noticed we were not getting any hot water. Dh checked the water heater's pilot light, which was not lit. He followed instructions on the water heater, how to reset it, and it never lit up. May I say, lukewarm and cold showers are *ahem* invigorating 😕😕?? Plumber is scheduled to come by tomorrow "between 9 and 2."
This Sunday afternoon we are helping with the Hymn Sing up at Oak Glen. Next Saturday we will do three songs at a local church's campmeeting series.
Well, that's about it for now. Have a good afternoon and evening!
I thought it was Tuesday, but SiL said it's Wednesday, and BiL backed her up on that assertion. Anyway, SiL took Nannie out today.....the doctor they saw today (a female Dr took the appt because our PCP didn't have any available appts.) said Nannie does not look like she has a UTI. (She could tell by looking at her? That's a new one on me!) Anyway, no changes in the meds because "a higher dose might make her worse". But the doc had some suggestions for getting add'l ***'t for her which SiL is going to make calls to insurance to check out what kind of help they might cover.
Then she took Nannie to a dept store and Nannie now has a new pair of shoes, 3 new pairs of pants, and 4 new tops that Nannie picked out (she liked the glittering gold highlights in the designs). SiL did not take Nannie back to her house, so did not feed her supper, but brought us two servings of home-made veg soup from her freezer. Nannie didn't want the soup, so I gave her one of the frozen meals she really likes instead.
So, tomorrow being Thursday, Chatty CG will be here from 1 PM to 6 PM. I will have to go to pick up a med refill, go to mail off some stuff at the P.O., and OH! I have an appt at the KIA dealership for an oil change (I think at 3 PM); glad I have remembered that!
I don't think the Prevagen is working too well on my poor brain, though I have read you have to give a supplement at least 3 months before you can tell if it is effective. So, one more month to go with my 'try-out' to see if my brain quits hitting the slick spots that I have been slipping on mentally. I know a lot of my problem is being stuck here and not having a life of my own, no local friends, no activities I can enjoy because of not having a suitable, reliable "schedule". One of these days I hope to break out of this cocoon!
Going to bring some of my stuff (book, magazine, notebook, laptop, etc) back upstairs because it is almost Nannie's bedtime; I like to do all that bed prep for ME, before she goes to bed instead of after, because waiting to do it after she is in bed makes ME stay up even later than usual..... and, OOPS! First I have to get her sheets and blankets out of the dryer and finish remaking the bed which had a 36" in diameter urine spot this morning!
GADS!
Hello all!
The plumber will be by tomorrow, between 9 and 2, to check the water heater.
I drove to my friend's house, realizing halfway there that I'd forgotten my glasses! Luckily, I don't need them to drive. I stayed 45 min or so, nattering, and then drove to the grocery store for a few things, and then headed home. OOPS, forgot my hat at my friend's house! She will drop it by tomorrow. What a ditz I am today!! At least I got dh's popsicles, and some rugala for him. 🙂
Not much else planned, as it is VERY hot. Well, I guess 90 degrees isn't VERY hot. Humidity 19%.
Have a good evening!

Tweety glad you're feeling better
Hi Dianah
Stars glad she was calmer yesterday, hope the doctor can do some sort of med adjustment to make her less irritable
Ado that sounds like a difficult day, hope today is better
Yesterday was a slow day at work, which was good as my GI symptoms continued throughout the morning, although settled down in the evening. Work was made easier still as a scheduled meeting was canceled
After work did the grocery shopping and stopped at the pet store. Took it easy the rest of the evening
Symptoms flared up again after waking but now seem to be settling down again. Not sure what this is, touch of food poisoning? Not Covid as I tested myself for that, although I know it can present as GI symptoms. Appetite seems affected too
Nothing really planned tonight or the next few days, which is good. Might exercise if I feel better
Think today will be another day in the mid to upper 70s
