Tweety that is a close season

NJ22 hope the vet visit goes smoothly

Stars glad the weather will be nice

Dianah the book club meeting went well, had a good turnout and a good discussion

Work went well yesterday.  Went for a walk afterwards then went to the book club.  Wasn't sure if I would have much to say, but did make some good points and heard a lot of interesting perspectives on the book.  Already have the book for next month

Tonight have grocery shopping and yoga class

Will get up to about 80 again today.  So far have not had to use the air conditioning

Glad you enjoyed the book club meeting, Joe.

Stars, I'm not sure I've ever had anything from Whataburger. There isn't one in town, and we didn't have them in Indiana (at least where I was). My nephew actually works for their corporate office (in IT). Sometimes the Oklahoma Blood Institute will give a Whataburger coupon when one donates blood but I have never used it, it being not terribly convenient to do so.

Hubs had gone out and bought plants and seeds (I was kind of looking forward to doing that myself, but I will not complain) and we got it all in the ground yesterday evening. Exciting times!

Yesterday I met with our financial planner and feel a little better about retirement planning.

Joe, good to hear you enjoyed the book club. You must be enjoying the yoga.

I've never seen a Whataburger. It looks like they are mainly in the southwest.

We are going back to the nursery today, because our friend who works there, said they have plant plugs for sale on Wednesdays and we might get a good deal on plants for baskets. The ground is way too cold and wet for planting. But yesterday got up to 54, and it is supposed to get that warm today.

Angus did OK at the vet. I gave him previsit meds: trazodone and neurontin, 9 hours and 3 hours before the visit. I had to carry him in because he was so sleepy and struggled to stand. For some reason they tried to draw from his hind leg, but he kept flinching and the vein blew. They ended up using his foreleg. I lost count on how many sticks: maybe 6. They tried to distract him with treats but he just ignored them. He's really not food oriented. He had a good long snooze last night and today is bright and perky.

Dh's mushroom fettuccine was good, but he starts cooking so late, that we end up eating after 8. I prefer to not eat that late at night, but he cooked so I can't very well refuse to even try. I seem to get heartburn if I eat too late, so does ds.

Hi....

I went to get my nails done, hooray!

I went looking for some 'Greased Lightning' at Lowes, Home Depot, and Tractor Supply, but none of them carry it anymore. I'll look on-line after I get through posting this. It is the very best stuff to clean a ghastly filthy floor; I used to spray it on kind of thickly, and let it sit for 20 minutes, and used some cheapo paper-towels to wipe it off the floor (there went the dirt!) and then do a plain water floor wash. It worked like magic, but nothing I've tried as a substitute does anywhere close to as good a job.

While I was out, hubby got out of his Ford and fell on his (R) elbow, made some pretty good skin tears. I tell him, put BOTH FEET on the ground when you get out of the car, and THEN stand up, holding on. He puts one foot out on the ground and then stands up, doesn't hang on to anything, and the toe of his other foot hangs up on the inside edge of the car, then, of course, he falls! A kid from across he street (not the one mentioned in next paragraph) saw hubby fall and came over to once again help him get up. Now hubby is saying again, "I've got to get off this stuff."

"Well the doc has tried 3 or 4 times to help you with medication, but you don't take it like he tells you to, so I don't know what can be done. If we had money I could ship you off to a rehab facility for 8 weeks, but that ain't happening....

There was some 'exciting' news our across-the-street neighbor was telling hubby about when I drove back down the driveway. Apparently our 2-doors-down neighbor, who does our yardwork, is having some kind of 'episodes'....Last night he drove over to our across-the-street neighbor's driveway and went to bang on their front door..... Told the a-t-s neighbor (who has not even spoken to him for 2 years!) that he was not going to put up with "this sh*t", and "the time is coming, SOON!" and got right in his face, saying, "I'm NOT going back to jail for this, for you or anybody else." That was when the a-t-s neighbor called the cops and the 'threatening' neighbor took off and didn't come back until much later, after the cops were gone. He has, what, paranoia, or schizophrenia, or some kind of mental-health problem. I don't know what the reason was, but before he moved here, he spent 10 years in the Federal Penitentiary; that's bound to make someone paranoid, but still....

Anyway, I've only seen him get all 'het-up'. when talking about the Bible (he's kind of stuck in the Old Testament, I think).  He has said to both hubby and I on different occasions that "The end is coming; it's very near."  He has always been reasonable and nice to me, and I don't feel afraid of him, but hubby told me he (hubby) didn't want me to be around this guy and don't go over to his house, ever again. I have been to his house a few times, to pay him for yard-work or give him some leftovers or something like that.

ANYWAY, he showed up in our back yard just now and did some trimming and edging, finishing up what he did the other day and for which we've already paid him. Because Nannie always freaks if a person is in our back yard, I closed the drapes. And then I went upstairs to tell hubby the guy was out back, because he had said to 'never' talk with this guy again and "let me know if he comes over and I'll handle it" ....and my hubby, who was all up in arms about this neighbor being off the tracks, said to me, "I can't do anything about him; I'm in bed."  ?  So much for a protective spouse!  Anyway the guy went home, so much ado about nothing here. I don't know the guy well enough, but I've always wanted to ask him, "Are you supposed to be taking some kind of medicine for this?" --or-- "Did you forget your meds this morning?" But, best to keep my mouth shut about that!

Almost time for  ?The Dreaded Question ? about supper. *sigh*

All for now, I guess.....

G'day

Worked the floor on the medical side, but had an orientee.  We had a patient go to Cath lab and came back with stroke like symptoms and off to CT scan and we finally got a neuro bed at guess when?  Shift change of course.  I made night shift deal with it.

It my day to do be in charge tomorrow.  Yuck.

My narcotic passing privileges are revoked over not charting a morphine 10 days ago.  I don't understand them.  I get to pass narcotics all day and about 5pm they are revoked after I submitted by defense and it's been 10 days.

Hubby and Nannie had a shouting argument after supper. She said, "That back yard out there is dirty." Hubby got po'd, saying the dirt is showing where the grass doesn't grow. She said it was "filthy". He got madder, "You want me to go out there and mop the dirt up?" OY!

I kept my head down and my mouth shut. Half an hour later, Nannie was ready to go to bed. Hubby asked her if she was tired of pouting. She won't talk to him.

Watching another Braves game; it is the top of the 5th inning and the teams are tied 3-3. Nannie spent the earlier part of the game trying to figure out what the "C" and the "A" on screen meant. Told her twice last night and twice tonight before she went to bed: "C" is Cincinnati and "A" is for Atlanta. She can't tell the teams apart anyway, and hardly understands what's going on on the field, so I don't know why she likes baseball games so much. She does comment often on the 'good color of the grass.'
