Tweety I like this time of year too, and Sept-Oct

Stars it's been pretty cloudy here too lately

NJ22 that was nice of you

Hi Rose

Work was pretty good, quiet enough that  I was able to help a coworker.  So far haven't had a lot of extra work despite that one coworker being  out.

Quiet night after work, exercised, didn't go anywhere

Has anyone else noticed they don't look forward to stuff as much as they used to?  I think that's something that's happened to me recently, wonder if it's pandemic related

Tonight have the usual grocery shopping and choir practice.  Will be at church every day from today through Sunday

Going to be a rainy and stormy day today, though it should get up to the 70s

Good morning Joe and all who post later!

Joe, stay dry and warm in the storms, I know you need to get to church in the rain (yes, I know you won't melt, but still want you to be safe)!  Busy schedule for Easter week.

Dh and I were planning to go to the Hemet jam today.  We set our alarms for 0630.  But I didn't sleep well AT ALL, and he woke up at 0500 and couldn't get back to sleep.  So we postponed going till next week.  He went back to bed.  I got up at 0800 and had some breakfast and took my meds.  Will probably nap later.

Last night we practiced a couple songs we will do for the local Christian TV station next Tuesday.  They host a live interview/discussion/talk show on Tuesday nights, and they usually have music interspersed.  We have played for them in the past, just haven't since Covid began in 2020.   I think, having practiced the songs, my mind was working on getting the arrangements down.  One of the songs is new, and I need to work on memorizing the words.  So, I think my brain worked on the songs (and some other random songs popped into my head too!) all night.  I have noticed I had trouble sleeping on the night before a scheduled program, too.  Just anxiety, I guess.

Anyway, tonight will be better (I hope)!

Hope you are all doing well, have a good day!

Hi folks. It was chilly this morning, but I told myself I would feel better after a bike ride, and I did! I went over to ride by the bay and it was warmer and partly sunny. I saw some Great Blue Herons, and I don't know why, but they just make me smile. And I saw 2 eagles gliding in a circle over the state park. I need to get ready for our trip to Portland, Friday-Sunday. I am in charge of bringing Easter baskets for the grand boys. I found 2 little plush dogs, one looks like their dog, and one looks like eldest ds's dog, whom they play with a lot. And I have some plastic eggs for hiding at the AirBNB we are staying at.  We are leaving Friday after I get off work and the kids are out of school. It's about a 5 hour drive.

Hmm, interesting question about not looking forward to stuff. Maybe? I feel like I dread some things, if that makes sense. I still feel like we are emerging from the pandemic, almost like there is little to look forward to, but so many things to get done. With retirement looming, it just feels like there are so many unknowns. I should be more proactive and seek out some fun things.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day.

Joe, We also have trouble looking forward to stuff, mainly because this "path of righteousness" we are on seems to have no viable, honorable escape hatch. I suppose we could just ditch Nannie into a nursing home and sell this house, but that wouldn't feel right at all. Plus, BiL has 1/10th of 1 % 'ownership' in this house and it cannot be sold unless he signs off on that percentage.... Which he has said he will not do. I don't know what we would do if we had to move, anyway. We've already decided that we wouldn't move back to Asheville because of so many people moving there, all the construction going on full-force to build more and more apartment/condos AND all the increased traffic and roadwork that has been going on for years and years, with no end in sight. Also since we left there, places to live are priced more outrageously than ever.

What with Covid variations slithering around here, there, and everywhere, in some mutant form or another,  even though we got our 3rd J&J vaccine, I still feel like I have to be extra careful to NOT bring in any molecule that might take hold and endanger hubby. So I am ambivalent about going too much of anywhere, I guess! Not knowing too many people here and not having $income$ except SS check....kind of limiting, y'know?

Today we are cloudy and in the low 80's, but with pretty good winds, so it isn't terribly hot. And, the weather people are telling us that WE aren't in the path of the big swaths of storminess. We may get some rain at some point, but like I've said before, reading and listening to so many weather forecasts, I get confused about what might happen when. Since I don't go hardly anywhere, weather hardly matters... as long as we aren't in danger. Which we ain't.

I forgot that Easter was coming up. I might 'sing' some Easter hymns in my head, but no plans have been made otherwise.

dianah, I suspect that by the time of your TV appearance on Tuesday, you will have the words memorized and the arrangements down.

Anyway, hubby will be back soon from The Fish-House with our supper, so I must go up and get Nannie's pills and her drink.

Oh, Braves won last night 16-3 or something like that. The other team was losing so bad that they sent in an outfielder to pitch, and basically, since his job was to prevent any further scoring by the Braves, he pitched....well, if that's what you could call it. It was just throwing the ball to home plate...at low speeds, like 52 mph, 34 mph, 44 mph. It was pretty funny to see the batters looking for SOMETHING to hit with the bat. They got to giggling about the pitching, and when d'Arnaud (a catcher) was a bat and got hit on the shoulder with a 40 mph ball, he made an "OH!" face toward the pitcher, and then did a dramatique, slow, crumpling fall and landed spread out on his back as if he was unconscious. Funny. He got up and on his way to first base, he stopped and shook the hand of the guy who was pitching. I looked at the clip on line, but it was missing all the 'pitching' and batting/laughing that went on before d'Arnaud's fall, ie the build up to the moment, that made it so funny. And the fans in the stands cheered....for the pitcher, at the end of the inning; he was making all kinds of faces during his time on the mound, like, I can't believe I am doing this.

So, that's that, and this is this, for now.

Good morning!

Work was pretty decent today as we had three nurses for 12 patients.  Can't complain about that.  Tomorrow might be 6:1 unless they can float us someone.

The pandemic actually heightened for me to look forward to things.  I looked forward to traveling again, to seeing my parents, even something as simple as getting a haircut those couple of months here in Florida we couldn't get one.  I really need something to cling on to, such as my upcoming trip to Costa Rica, a new bathroom and kitchen.  I have long had no enthusiasm for Christmas or Birthdays and stuff like that.

Have a great evening.

Yeah, now that we are retired, we 'look forward' to one day, someday, actually getting to BE retired.

*sigh*

So today's mail presented three -- THREE! -- ads for hearing devices!!  Addressed to either dh or me.  Three in one day!!  SMH.  We are NOT "old"!  LOL

Had a quiet day.  Did the online jam with dh.  Need to practice the songs.

Good that work was decent, Tweety.  I agree, pandemic has adjusted perspective to better appreciate things that perhaps *we* took more for granted, pre-pandemic.

No Stars, I got a giggle over your description of the game, and the players' antics!  I was wondering, have you discussed getting another dog?  Or will you put that off for a bit?

nursej22, sounds like a nice trip planned, and you will certainly enjoy seeing the grand-kids and bringing their Easter baskets!  Again: something to look forward to!

Have a good evening!

dianah, I wouldn't mind having another dog, and a cat or two, too. Just not right now. I couldn't stand having any more responsibility than I have right now, and new pets would be in my 'job description'.

Hubby is limping. Left hip. He says, "Yeah, if this doesn't get any better, I'm going to have to call for a Dr's appt." It's been going on for about 4-5 days, so I don't know what the time element would be for 'getting better'. He also told me that 'some guy' told him that he had had the same pain and it was kidney stones. The guy told him to go to the drugstore and get some coconut water; said it worked for him and he couldn't even tell when he passed the stones. I asked hubby, "DO you have kidney stones?" He said, "Not that I know of, but the coconut water is worth a try."

!?!?!?

Yeah, go ahead and try it, but CALL THIS WEEK TO MAKE AN APPT> Go get an xray (dammmit!) or a scan or something, and get seen SOONER rather than later!

OY.
