Hi Tweety
Ado hope the storms prove mild
NJ22 that's a cool photo
Stars I hope you find your phone
Work was good yesterday, just busy enough to stay busy much of the day but otherwise pretty quiet
After work ran to the pet store and then did the grocery shopping. Rest of the evening was fairly quiet
Nothing going on after work today, at least nothing planned
Will be rainy with storms most of the day, though I think most of the severe weather should miss us

Good morning!
Hi Joe!
Hope Stars finds her phone and J22 is having safe travels.
I've been productive in the kitchen having meal prepped lunches and dinners for the next two work days and will head to the gym. Probably watch some shows later today.
Have a great day!

Hi. We toured Keukenhof today, a large display garden of Spring bulbs like tulips and daffodils. Then we came to Hoorn, the former headquarters of the Dutch East India Company. Once again, beautiful old buildings. Our hotel is in an old church. We go to Amsterdam tomorrow.

This morning SiL came an hour earlier than usual, because, she said, she "has to work all day." Yuh, real good at saying "no", isn't she? But at least that means she is willing to pick up Nannie from DayCare after she gets off work, so *I* don't have to! 😉
She also found my cellphone....she said it was under the sofa....yes, the same sofa I searched through and under multiple times. I heard its general direction, but so general that I couldn't pin down the location. Maybe I was being selectively blind and/or deaf? I don't understand how I didn't SEE it!
Okay, well, it is noontime and I have been in bed typing away on my laptop. I ought to get dressed and go out to the bank to deposit a check....
THEN? I dunno. More laundry, more dishes, and more trash collecting. How boring! One of these days I will get inspired and do something that has been waiting for MONTHS to be done. I'll let ya know if that ever happens.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch....

Yaaaaay, glad you found your phone, No Stars! I go through the same, every now and again: where's my phone? I have taken to setting it down in noticeably PLAIN sight, or in a few select places ONLY. Hopefully that helps cut down on the instances of panic when I realize I don't have it. I hope you will, in some way, enjoy your Nannie break today. Even if you just do routine necessary, daily tasks, at least you don't have to keep an eye on her!
Hello to all!
Yesterday we took Toby to the vet, and I spent four hours with him there. As well as having hyperthyroidism (successfully managed with medication), he now has documented renal failure and a UTI. He is on half a dozen meds, once or twice a day. And a renal diet, which thankfully he seems to enjoy. In years past, when we'd give the K/D canned food to other ailing cats, EVERY last little pink nose would turn up at the sight of that (outrageously expensive, I might add) pile of food! Dh is able to sprinkle and mix in some of his meds, and he just wolfs* it all down. * I guess that would, more accurately be, "cats" it all down, but that just doesn't sound right!
We have band practice today, in the afternoon. Then tomorrow take doggy to get his rabies booster so we can pay the city to have him licensed. Did I say $$$$$$?? Then on Friday we take LuLu in, possible urinary issues (long-term and ongoing). Yah, this is Vet Week.
Oldest ds called last week, he quit his job at the bar and grill -- it was just too stressful (I won't go into details, but he was a trooper to stay as long as he did). He is SO relieved, as are we for him! He is working part-time at the Cat Cafe (what a haven that has turned out to be!), and has feelers out to two other areas where he can pick up shifts. So, there is no financial stress for now. And, as mentioned, mental and emotional stress are lessened! We plan to go out for lunch with him, soon.
The eaglets at Big Bear are doing well, growing SO fast! A weather system dumped about 2" of snow last night, and it is quite windy up there this morning. The babies are too big now to fit under a parent (for brooding). They have their thermal down so will stay warm as long as they stay dry (until the water-shedding feathers grow in), so Mama Jackie slept with wings outstretched over them, like an umbrella (the site calls it a Mombrella). The babies have eaten at least once this morning.
It is still partly-cloudy out.
Love the photos and the travel documentary, nursej22!! I'm sure the time is going by WAY too fast.
Have a good day!
Maybe I should wear a modified tool belt with each pocket secured by either a zipper or a snap.....I would have to carry my cell phone, my notebook/brain, 2-3 pens, and, well, whatever ..... Or, I could use a police-officer's belt, or a fisherman's vest? Or, maybe some Gorilla Glue! 🤣 🦍 😂
I don't remember if I mentioned this or not. I recorded Nannie on my cell phone last night (before I lost it!) and she is rattling on, telling me all about ...?...I don't really know what. But I hope to share it w/ some folks that haven't a clue about PART of what I have to endure here. You can understand some of the words and sentences, but you can't tell what it is she is going on and on about! And I taped it because I just HAD TO!
4:10 PM: Just interrupted by SiL bringing Nannie back home. Oh joy. She's very quiet and looks tired. I'm happy there are people and places where she is occupied and/or 'entertained', and worn out, instead of her wearing ME out! But 2 minutes after SiL walked out and drove away, Nannie craned her neck to look out and see if there was a car out there. "Isn't, wasn't, aren't I supposed to go somewhere?" Oh deary-me, here we go again......"No, Nannie, you just got home and have been gone ALL DAY".....which she no longer remembers. So, essentially, her day out never happened. Very sad. Sooooo, she has reverted to one of her 'favorite' pastimes, which is fiddling with her sleeves, fixing them one way, then another, and buttoning and unbuttoning her sweatshirt-cardigan. She is frowning, and staring at nothing, and a minute or two later, it is back to the sleeves. OY!
