I'm a new home care RN and have an interest in being WOCN certified. Two programs that interest most are Emory and Webwoc; Webwoc also has the clinical portion online which is very appealing and convenient, albeit expensive. Anyone currently in or completed Webwoc program? Can you tell me about your experience? Thanks

I have used webwoc. I like the learning portion. There several powerpoint presentations to watch (and print) each week. Assignments and quizzes weekly. The final exams are proctored through ProctorU which has some negative reviews, and I had minor "technical" issues (mostly with sound). I did some scopes before, and currently enrolled on the 'online clinical'. Those involve a decent sized homework assignment per session, then small scheduled group zoom meetings where the topic is discussed. When I scheduled my zoom meetings, I had to schedule about a month out. I had challenges getting clinical sites before doing the online program. It may depend on your area, they can provide you with a list of approved preceptors, the sites all need an agreement.

I am taking the WOCN exam next week, anyone here with some vital hint to help me pass this exam.

I did Webwoc for the convenience but if I was new I would definitely go to Emory.

Hello,

How many questions your have on the exam. How was the exam? you passed!

The certification exams have 120 questions for each specialty (wound, ostomy, continence, foot). You have 2 hours to complete the exam. You can take more than 1 exam during a test day.  I do not understand the scoring but you can print out the results (score, areas for improvement). I passed the exams, but, I also got A's while taking the courses (A's required a 95% average). When sitting for the exams, though, I would typically "flag" about half of the questions initially, too look over a second time (or third, depending on how much time I had left). I literally took about the full 2 hours for each exam because of the flag/review.

I have a few questions about the virtual clinical practicum for the WEBWOC program that I have not been able to get answered. I am working on the assignment for lab 1 and there is so minimal directions to what they wanted turned in prior to the zoom meeting. Any suggestions?

Thank you

I see a comment it takes a year to complete the WOCN. When you register for the course, it says 90 days to complete. Does that mean each course, W is 90 days, C, is 90 days, O, is 90 days, etc.?? That equals one year. So, my questions is how long does it take to finish the C and O classes? Would that be 6 months??? What if you take them together? Is that 3 months total? Sorry, I am just confused.....
