Weatherford college lvn-rn 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I have applied to the weatherford college in texas for the lvn to rn transition program. Anyone with advice about the place? I have heard some very unbecoming reputation about the place..... that they aren't favourable to minorities.

If you call will you let us know?! Yes--that is way too long! Yikes.

I've also heard that the letters get sent out the week before Spring break. That would be roughly 5 weeks after deadline, so that would make sense.

FYI, I just talked to KL and she wouldn't get me a specific date on when the letters are being mailed out. She just said 5-6 weeks after the deadline.

I just spoke to KL, she said they would be mailed out next week possibly. If one is taking any classes in spring, you get 1 point for it regardless of your final grade. It actually works to your advantage if you complete the classes before the application deadline.

Has anyone else received a blue post card from the TX BON stating that their background check has been cleared? Does WC do background checks on every single applicant?

Just wanted to let you guys know that I received my letter today. I was chosen as an alternate. Good luck to you guys

Congrats, I was also chosen as an alternate! I can't help but feel a little skeptical right now, but I've heard chances of getting in are pretty good. Let's keep our fingers crossed :)

I got into the wc transition program 2014-2015 at the wise co campus!! It starts june 2!!!

I got the blue post card 2 days ago, then I got my acceptance package yesterday for the main campus! Those that are alternates, don't be discouraged, I was an alternate for the 2011-2012 LVN program and I got in. So don't give up, there is hope! Hope to see y'all may 2!

Congratulations on getting in! Do you know how the alternate selection works? I just assumed they would go in order, but KL said they don't tell anyone where they are on the alternate list "to keep it fair". I really don't understand how just knowing what number you are is unfair...so I am starting to wonder if they do the selection differently.

Thank you! I was 2nd alternate for the LVN program and I only knew that after I was accepted before that summer. I guess they don't want any drama in trying to figure it out, not like anyone knows other applicants though. Basically, they wait to get the acceptance/declination letters, we had until April 4th to reply. Then they will see how many spots they can fill with alternates and they go in order from there. That's how the LVN program was, I knew about 3-4 weeks after getting the original letter, we had 1 student find out the first day of school. That's why I said don't give up, because you never know when someone will change their mind, not show up to the mandatory orientation, or have a life change and they don't end up going. Make sure to go to orientation and do all the stuff you need to, because if you don't and you're selected then you'll be scrambling to get things in order. Good luck!

I was also accepted in to the bridge program for 2014/15. I am very excited. I graduated from the LVN program there in 2010. I loved it. My instructors were amazing ( even the "tough" ones). I would think these instructors would be just as great! We had a very diverse group of ppl with both gender and race. I am very excited to start in June! I'm getting to be with some of my old LVN classmates and friends. Dont be discouraged! i know in lvn school they accepted alternates all the way into the Second week to replace the ones who thought it wasn't for them. I'm excited to get to meet everyone in a few weeks. Good luck!
