Weatherford college lvn-rn 2014

Published

I have applied to the weatherford college in texas for the lvn to rn transition program. Anyone with advice about the place? I have heard some very unbecoming reputation about the place..... that they aren't favourable to minorities.

I have also applied to WC's lvn-rn transition program. I've heard only GOOD things about the program. Have you talked to anyone about how many applicants have applied? I hate the fact we have to wait at least six weeks to get letters..

Last I heard the letters don't come out until end of May as some applicants are still finishing their spring classes. How did you do on your teas exam. That could be the bigger determinant as you need a 70 minimum from each section.

I got a 88.3 on Reading, 80.0 on Math, 72.9 on Science, and 73.3 on English & Grammer. My adjusted individual score was 77.3. I REALLY hope it is good enough. We shall see. How did you do?

BTW, the program starts in May so surely the letters come out before then.

I also applied to the LVN to ADN program. Does anyone have any idea how many points it usually takes to get into the program? I talked with the secretary, and unfortunately I got confused and thought I had more points than I actually do. I'm thinking my chances of getting in are now next to nothing :( She told me that she is just now starting to look at the applications so maybe we will hear something soon?

I hope it doesn't take FOREVER for her to go through all the applications! I am unsure of what kind of score it usually takes for us to get in. I wish I knew how many people were applying. These next few weeks are going to feel like they drag!

Hopefully if she has already started then maybe she will get them done quickly...I don't know for sure how many people applied, but when I turned my application in to the nursing department (on the day of deadline!) there were two other people also turning in applications for the lvn-rn program at the same time! The lady there told me that the LVN-RN selection is usually a little bit less competitive than the regular ADN selection. She couldn't give me a point number estimate that would be needed to get in because she said this year they are using a new point system (?)

Really? Hmm.. I wonder if it is different from what is online and what they hand out at the testing center. I am so ready to know!!!! If we get in this time next year we will be preparing for our state boards again! I am so ready for that.

Me too! Hopefully we will find out sooner than later....keep your fingers crossed :)

I just checked the website. The class for the LVN-RN starts in summer 1. That's in June according to the school calender. An ex student of the placed told me that they sent them just before classes start as they accept the classes taken in the spring semester usually by the 3rd to 4th week of May. Will call to find out.

Wow, that is WAY too long to have to wait to get a letter. Let me know what you find out! I wonder if KL knows what the points are starting to look like yet?
