Hi! Anyone applying to Weatherford College Nursing program this Spring??

So we can get points for classes we are taking in the Fall? Im also taking micro next month...

Your points are great! Good luck to all of us!

I'm applying with 32 points. I'm still a little worried as well! You never know!

Good luck y'all! :nurse:

Does anyone know if work experience plays a role in acceptance??

I know it isn't listed on the selection criteria, but on the application itself it asks about work experience...

I will be applying with 27 points but even if I do not get in then I will just reapply after the fall semester as I am already signed up for a few classes to bring up my points. After seeing some of these high points I am kind of worried about my chances now! But hey if I do not get in then all I can do is try again! I would like to know how many people have applied and what the average score is in getting in!! On previous years I have seen people getting in around 26!

Does anybody know how many students normally get into the program? When somebody finds out how may have applied please let me know!!

When I spoke to the nursing advisor she said the lowest accepted points for the fall 2013 semester was 28. :nurse:

Ugh, thats discouraging! My little 21 or 22 points may not make the cut, especially with such a small Spring class ( I heard about 20 or so). If I can get on the alternate list I will be happy, because I know people might give up their spots for other schools like TCC or El Centro.

*sigh* Fingers crossed anyway.

That is a little discouraging because it makes me feel like I am so close yet so far away! But this is the first time that I am applying for it so I'm really not expecting to get in on the first try but I am retaking a couple of classes in the fall and then I will retake my TEAS in order to up my score and get more points on it and hopefully bring my points up to like 31 or 32!!! When you fail at first just try and try again!!

Brittrb I think you have more than an excellent chance in getting in so I wish you all the luck in the world!! If you do and some of us don't then keep us updated and let us know how it goes!!! But hey you never know we may all get in and be the Spring 2014 nursing class!!

Okay so I sent an email to KL and asked her a lot of info that we were all wondering and this is what I received!

You must submit transcripts, TEAS V test scores, and Hepatitis B shot record with your Allied Health application. If the official copies are in Student Services, and you have a copy of your transcripts, I will accept it. The spring class is 20 students. However, we may increase it to 25 this year. I usually have between 80 – 130 apply. I receive the majority of my applications the last week of July. We have only used the new point system one time. For the fall class, it took 28 or more points to be selected and 26-27 for alternates. Of course, every application period is different. Sometimes the points are higher and sometimes they are lower so if you qualify to apply, I recommend that you apply by the July 31 deadline.

I actually got called for Brookhaven/UTAs nursing programs so I will sadly be withdrawing my application! Which is good news for all y'all! One less person to compete with. Good luck to y'all! In a few years we'll all be RNs or working towards that and all of this stress of getting in to a program will be behind us. :D :nurse:

and side note KL at weatherford nursing department is a very sweet lady.

That is absolutely awesome for you congrats!!!! I am hoping to get into the BSN program at TWU myself!! What field were you wanting to specialize in?! Lol this would be so much easier through email!!
