Hey everyone,

Anyone else apply for the nursing program at Wharton in Sugarland for Spring 2019?

Still waiting on a response!:nailbiting:

Hi Cheetah5, as a wcjc adn student is there anything you need to buy from the school? For example do you have to buy laptop or books from the school? And may I know how many students pass the first semester? Thank you!

Specializes in Pediatrics, Family medicine.
I feel the same as you, maybe I'm not meant to go to WCJC Sugar Land. All according to God's plan, I say. It was absolutely gut wrenching to get that email, though.

Thank you so much! But now I'm thinking maybe I should just try to go for my BSN. I've only got to take chemistry and statistics, and I will have all of the BSN pre-reqs done.

If you are able to go straight for your BSN then go for it. I still have to work so I will just still shoot for ADN and if I can't then I will go straight for the BSN. I just feel that it is better to go get my ADN and then bridge over, once I finish all my BSN prereqs.

No one get down that you didn't get accepted. I applied for the LVN to ADN program with Wharton and was waitlisted and didn't get it. I also have applied to UT SON several times and keep getting denied. Even with good grades and test scores it sometimes just isn't meant to be.

I have FINALLY been accepted this time to Wharton. I would like to know who else is accepted and where they live for carpooling.

The program is concept based. Its not a block schedule where you have different classes to go to. You're in 1 classroom and different professors come in to teach a concept. I struggled with the lecture. Tests are all critical thinking. It was hard for sure. You have to be good at time management! I can create a Facebook group for anyone that got accepted. But I'd have to add y'all on fb as friends first to be able to create the group.

Yes if you could create a FB group that would be great. I saw on a thread for a previous year that the schedule is MWF 8-4 and T/TH 6-2 for clinicals. I remember it being something similar to that when I went to the LVN-ADN orientation since I was on the waitlist. It is mandatory we go to orientation to, otherwise we get dropped from the program.

The schedule last semester was monday-friday 8:30-3 or 3:30. Clinical started in like april. And i think we went 2 days a week for clinical. And they let us have some fridays off from class. But the schedule could be slightly different from the previous semesters. I need to add you on fb to make a group.

Also you got accepted into the ADN program right? Not the LVN-ADN Program?

Yes in the ADN. I was waitlisted for the lvn-ADN program. I'm just trying to get my Rn even if this way takes an extra semester.

Whats your name so i can add you?
