Hi all, I applied to WCJC for the spring and did not get accepted. Just wondering if those of you that did get accepeted would share your ACT scores and GPA. Just wondering what areas that I need to improve in. I called the school, and she said that I was only 3 points away from being accepted, and she would not recommend me doing anything, but I would still like to know ways for me to improve.

I had a 24 ACT score. I had also completed all those prerequisite classes. My prerequisite Gpa was like a 3.44. I think my ACT score helped. I also have two bachelors degrees so that might have helped me look a lil better. Wharton was the third school I applied to. I had been rejected by the other two. Keep applying and eventually someone is going to say yes.

Thanks for the response. My ACT score is a 20. I think my GPA is around 3.33. I have taken all of my prereqs.

I have heard that preference is given to people that already have a bachelors degree, which is a little disheartening since I don't have one! lol

I'm seriously thinking about retaking the ACT. I haven't been to school in over 23 years, and I did NO kind of preparations for the test, I just decided to go in and give it a shot to see how I would do. I have all As & Bs, and one C in Eng2, which I should probably retake.

I'm just going to keep applying and I'm also going to apply at some other schools.

My ACT reading and english combo score is 43 (I think that is what they look at, but I'm not sure)

I had never taken the ACT. I took the SAT and even then that was ten years ago. I went to the library and got this book called 10 Real ACT Tests. It was very helpful. Thanks goodluck to you as well.

Thanks! I'll go by the library and pick up that book. I'm looking into rescheduling my ACT now.

Are you going to attend Wharton, or are you waiting on other schools to respond as well?

Right now I am definately preparing to attend Wharton. I am doing my background check fri. I am also leaning towards Wharton because It is cheaper and since I owe a lot of loan money I felt it more reasonable to get my ADN. Also it is not too far from my home and i do not have to worry about those outrages costs in parking fees if i went to a school in the med center. I will do an ADN to MSN program later.

I'd like to attend Wharton because of the cost/location as well. I live close to Sweeny, so Wharton is one of the closest. Brazosport is a little bit closer, but I haven't heard much of the school yet. I may apply to Brazosport and possibly Alvin also.

@ Johnsover, I am applying to Alvin too, the application is out now through oct 3rd. I have done the online application but I am still planning to go to the mandatory applicant meeting. I would have applied to wharton because it is the closest to my house compared to other schools. I did all my prequisites at wharton too with overall 3.9 Gpa, but I got 19 on the ACT. I didnt apply to Spring class at Wharton because I hadn't completed Micro by the application deadline, I finished it last summer 2. Now i am applying to Alvin but I am more concerned with the distance, it is about 50mins drive from my house and I dont drive, my sis takes me to school. I think You should apply to Alvin, I was told not as many applicants normally apply for the spring. And with your Act composite score, its kind of high for Alvin requirement I guess. My compo for Eng and Reading is 42, I think my Gpa for the school will be like 3.8 or 3.85. I will advise you to give it a try at Alvin. Who knows? It may be your lucky shot. I will give it a try too
