Hi there!
I recently applied to the wcccd nursing program for Spring 2011. It will be a few months
before I know if I've been accepted. Is anyone else waiting as well?

I am so nervous and excited! I am very busy getting everthing in order and trying to have some fun before next semester. I can hardly wait for orientation; I still have to turn in my acceptance card and get the medical requirements completed. I am so ready to do this!
When are we considered nursing students?

congratulations to you all who got accepted! i am a transferring from schoolcraft this fall, decided to do that cause i am paying too much per credit hour at schoolcraft and it drives me nuts to see how much i have in my student loan in just 4 semesters of stay. i still have prerequisites (biology) to finish before i could apply for the program next year in fall. anyway, i hope to hear from you all about your experiences and tips. good luck! :)

Congrats to all who were accepted. I can't believe it has been almost a year (May 2010) since I graduated from WCCCD. I started working as a nurse intern after graduating and then took and passed NCLEX in August and started my BSN at UofM Flint in September 2010. 2010 was one crazy year!
One piece of advice to all of you getting ready to start the program...learn how to do concept maps and apply the nursing process to them for all disease processes. I just did a research paper about concept mapping and how it can help enhance critical thinking in nursing students. It is a great way to put the whole nursing process into a visual aid on one page and what a great study tool too! Those exams can be brutal so if you learn how to create concept maps now before the program you will be able to apply them to any new concept you are learning to help you learn and critically think.
Good luck to all of you! Your success is based on your efforts and dedication! You can do it!
