  1. I'm in my 2nd week of an ADN program and feel like I am having a nervous breakdown! I have lecture and 2 lab classes. I passed my 1st 2 quizzes, but the work is overwhelming. I love it!!
  2. I started an ADN program last week, I'm 54. I feel so stressed out, but so is everyone else! You can do it!! Maturity is an advantage and so is perserverance.
  3. Application deadlines last year were the end of Feb and June. Good Luck!
  4. I passed last month in Mich. My skills were handwashing, hair and nail care, blood pressure and positioning. I am also looking for a job!
  5. Wayne County Community College is a new location; I know someone who went there and passed. I took the test last month at HFCC and also passed. Good Luck!
  6. I start this Jan. and the prereqs haven't changed (no chemistry)and the application process haven't changed much. The criminal background check has to be within 30 days of the application from certifiedbackground.com ($28.00). Also, the teas test registration is thru the nursing dept, you should give them a call.
  7. If I were you I'd take the Eng. & AP 2 over again! I wouldn't use any classes not taken at WCCCD because you lose 10 points in the Nursing application scoring process, and that's a lot. Good luck!
  8. I'm starting an ASN program in Jan. at 54 (third career)!
  9. At the Michigan CC, a total of 42 credits with a 3.80 gpa; 3.77 (5 classes) for pre-reqs. My school uses a point system (pre-req gpa, TEAS, co-reqs taken etc.) but the lowest pre-req gpa accepted into the nursing program is 3.75.
  10. When are we considered nursing students?
  11. I am so nervous and excited! I am very busy getting everthing in order and trying to have some fun before next semester. I can hardly wait for orientation; I still have to turn in my acceptance card and get the medical requirements completed. I am so ready to do this!
  12. I'm in! Congratulations to all!
  13. I am devastated! I just received my "so sorry" letter and can't seem to pull it together. What makes it so bad is that the form letter stated that I was below the cut-off of 75 points, and I had 75 points! I have to meet with the dean and discuss the situation. This is my second career and I am depressed. Thanks for any imput.
