Is there anyone else on here who is waiting for a response from WCCCD's nursing department? I applied June 30, and am going slightly crazy waiting for my acceptance/denial e-mail! Let's get to know each other, hopefully we'll be classmates!
I dont know for sure BUT a friend of mine told me when she applied it wasn't a lot of ppl turning in applications. She went in May...
This was my first time applying (I went the 6/30 meeting) so I really don't have anything to compare it to. But I expected to see a lot more people at the meeting than what I saw. There wasn't that many people when I went. Maybe like 30-40.
I went to the very first app meeting in April and it was only 4 of us when turned in applications. Me and the other 3 students even stayed talking ro the director for about an hour after we completed our apps, and during that time only one student entered and he didn't have everything he needed and was told to come back. I'm praying it is a low turn out this year, so we'll all have a better chance at getting in. Good luck and God bless every1. I wish they would hurry up and send out my acceptance letter so that I can stop holding my breath lol.
Just to clarify. I know you get 10 points for having taken ENG I, BIO 240, 250 and 295 and PSY at WCCC. But what about having all the the other classes such as Nutrition, Med Math, Patho ect completed?
Everything is based on a 100 point system
60 points for gpa 3.8 and up (not sure of the other gpa's but I know it goes down in increments of 10 points)
They take only your pre-req's to get your gpa and if your co-reqs raise your gpa then they count those as well. The co-req's can only help you. They will not add the co-req grades in your gpa if it will bring your total gpa down.
Teas points-
math section
10 points for 90-100
8 points for 80-89
6 points for 70-79
4 points for 60-69
2.5 points for 50-59
Then they add the same amount of points for the reading part except of course for the 50 percentage range as you must score a 60 or up on reading
10 points for all classes taken at wcccd
7.5 for 75% taken at wcccd
5 for 50% taken at wcccd
5 points for health care experience
2.5 points for having a license (cpr license counts too)
5 points for having co-req's done
2.5 for having half co-reqs done
someone on this thread stated the cut off last semester was 75 points.
This is what I gathered at the meetings I have gone to. Hope this helps!
I also noticed that there was not a lot of students during the June 30 application meeting. Does anyone know why there is such a low turn out? Not a lot of people passing the TEAS??
Do you remember if you got there early or late? I know I was really late so maybe earlier in the day there was more people.
I think a lot of people were really misinformed about the scores of the TEAS I overheard someone saying they couldn't get a good score on english but had 80's in everything else. And I was thinking WCCCD doesn't even look at english.
