Hello, I am applying to Wayne State University College of Nursing in Detroit, Michigan for fall 2010. I have completed all of my requirements to be considered for an interview/ admissions (my application is complete). How long will it take to hear a response from WSU CoN regarding an interview and or acceptance notice?

Congrats Kitcat!!!

Thanks, Grudg. Congrats to you too!

Congrats Besafe! It's a big accomplishment!

Thank you!! Congratulations to you too :yeah:

I can't describe how I feel right now, this is so exciting!!

Hi WMU Grad! Congratulations! It's so exciting today to have this good news. Like you it's been on my head a lot. I look forward to meeting you at orienation in July.

Congrats to you guys for getting in! I am "alternate" on cd2 program.

I have been! I am so excited, too!

Have you guys read all the requirements that are due by Aug 15th? I called about them, as the links don't work (and because I'm pretty neurotic like that), and was told we'll get all the forms at the orientation July 14-15. But I did sign up for the CPR class already....I am taking it through Red Cross and it's July 12 and July 19, in case anyone else wants to sign up with me!

I was wondering about the CPR Class. Wasn't sure if Wayne State offered one or not. The list made me dizzy :uhoh3:!!! What hours are you're class. I have a summer class Mon-Thurs morning at Wayne State. So I need to work around that.

Wow haven't been on here in forever but great to see so many excited posters. :ancong!: to all accepted. I really liked the program and know you will too.

I noticed a few talking about CPR. Wayne State has not offered a class in the past it is up to you to fulfill that requirement on your own. Make sure you sign up for the CPR for the professional rescuer class from the Red Cross and not the regular CPR class. It covers use of the AED and is the only CPR offered by the Red Cross that Wayne State accepts. Would hate for you to go to all the trouble and expense only to later find out you'd taken the wrong class.

Also don't freak out about all the clinical requirement stuff- they will hand out all the forms at orientation and it's very straightforward. I got all my stuff done at the campus health center for a fraction of the cost of any other location. You'll just need the forms they give you, your one card, and your immunization records (hopefully you have them. If not I think you may need additional vaccines or bloodwork done at higher cost). My physical, titers, urine drug screen, tb test etc was about $100 all together when I had it done 3 years ago as I recall. The student health center prices are unbeatable and it's very easy to get an appointment in the summer. You read horror stories about students at other schools paying a ton of money to get all of this done. We are very lucky to have the student health center as a resource!

Hi WayneStateKatie :D

I just want to thank you soooo soooo much for all your tips and advice. You've been beyond helpful!! I looked over the requirements and was ready to freak out LOL But then I sat down and made a list and it's not that bad. Also, it's good to know they can do medical assessment/check at the student health center, and they are probably familiar with everything we need. What about HepB shot? Did you need to do that?
