Wayne State MSN Fall 2017... when will admissions decisions be made?

Published

Hello there! I recently just applied to Wayne State's MSN program for Fall 2017 and was wondering if anyone knew when admission decisions would be made? I know the application deadline is June 1st but since classes begin in August, I was wondering if they admit based on a rolling basis or wait until after the application deadline. I had asked a counselor and she didn't really give me a clear answer, so I'm hoping someone knows 😬 Patience is not a virtue I have so the wait is killing me!

I have not! I was told on 5/2 that my application is going to review but I'm still waiting. I looked at the graduate school website for midwifery and they listed more information regarding graduation and board pass rates, it looks like they only accept 10 people in their midwifery program per cohort so I've lost a lot of hope í ½í¸”

I hope we find out soon! :)

Have you contacted your admissions representative? I emailed mine and he said they are just behind in notifying people. So don't worry yet!!

Yes I have! She said that she could speed the process along and give me a decision really quickly if I had wanted too, I declined saying I'll wait but I really regret that now :x

I contacted them again and they said my specialty coordinator is currently out :/ have you heard anything back?

No, and I am starting to get frustrated. How many times have you contacted them?

Just twice, the last time was about a week ago when I was told the specialty coordinator was out and I'd hear back once they come back, but I wasn't sure what they meant by that. Out as in on vacation? Out as in they stepped out of the office for five minutes?? :(

Have you applied to any other schools, or just Wayne?

Just Wayne for now because I do not have any work experience and it was one of the few schools that accepted applicants without the GRE and work experience. I plan on applying to U of M once their application opens end of August. I went their for my undergrad so I am hoping that pulls some weight!

I'm sure it will! Good luck!

I think I'm going to email the admissions person again, even though I feel rude í ½í¸•

No I don't think it's rude at all, let me know what they say!!

Specializes in Psychiatry.

I am also in the psych MSN program at Wayne. I am doing distance learning because I live between GR and Kalamazoo!
