Wanted to see who else is going to Watts (Mt Olive) starting in June. I just got my acceptance letter today! Wondering who my fellow classmates will be!
aha! i know who you are. last week, i sat at the end of your table next to the blond - "V" (who i know you know).
Yes, I know the the blonde "V" and who you are!!
These names are so hard to associate .... except for "Jeepinjed" and "LynneFair." I wasn't very creative in my name choice ... I have way too many usernames and passwords to remember, so I decided to keep this one simple.
Gcrunner: I was unhappy to see that I could not order my book as well. Did you set it up to ship when available?
Lol... Actually I do... But deadliest catch is my favorite show... Even though blue crab is the best crab!!!
But back to whale wars, I think what those guys are doing is nuts!!! I agree with their cause but I think the captain is whiny and wouldn't put his life on the line, but his crew on the other hand... And what they're doing is illegal! slaughtering the whales is wrong too... But I find it entertaining... In other words I guess I have mixed feelings about it... Except the entertainment factor!
Well, to believe in something so strongly and be willing to fight for it like these guys, you have to be a little crazy! Anyone that has had a major cause can attest to how crazy passion can make you. Are you talking about the new captian or the old white haired one? The old one is just past his prime. Remember, he's actually been doing this for 20 years!!! He used to be the life risking one, but now he has the younger crew to take those risks. He still pours a lot of heart and money into the campaign.
They figure if no one else is willing to police them, they will. The Japanese whalers are bullying the whales, so the campaign is bullying them in return. I totally agree with what they are doing! They do campaign throughout the remander of the year, but their concerns go unheard, which is why they have to take other tactical measures. If I were younger and had no family, I just might consider doing it too!
Lady- i'm eating tasty, tasty whale right now!
ok, just kidding... the only think i don't approve of is vigilantes running around on the high seas, to attack another vessel in international waters is an act of war! but then again i guess it is necessary since no country actually wants to step up to enforce the law!!!! i guess that's what shocks me the most... but i love the sea... sigh... need to find a nursing at sea job! lol...
