I'm a Durham Tech hopeful, but was considering Watts as a backup plan. Can anyone share about what their financial aid plans are? The cost scares me.
Stefany,
Their financing is through their association with Mount Olive College. I'm sure
there are some options, but in Watts' student catalogue, they state that their belief is
that the primary responsibility of financing rests with the student and family.
I have completed financing for MOC prereqs, but they haven't discussed Watts
financing with us yet. I guess they want to make sure you pass all the prereqs first.
I got the call today from moc!! Yay! I am meeting her at the end of the month. For those of you with prior credit for courses, what did you sign up for? What are the other choices?
Most of my courses were accepted but was surprised that my religion class was not... but they explained it was geared towards nursing and death and dying and how each religion views it... i'm always up for learning especially on such a difficult subject... the course choices are pretty much laid out already...
Jeep,
Did you have to pick several alternate classes to make up the 18 hours
required?
Yes... but it has to be approved first before you can... something about being Watt's students and the partnership with MOC... it's kinda weird... sorry it took so long to respond...
Is anyone skipping math and/or english? I got to opt out of those two. I'm a little
concerned that I may miss out on something I may need later - math equations, how to write papers... anyone else???

Hi Androes,
I am currently taking the MOC classes and did not have to take math either. A lot of other girls in my group took it and they actually had to write a lot of papers and said it wasn't really necessary. As far as English went the only important thing you need to know is how to write papers in APA format. We were told it is the only format that is used by medical professionals and any papers we read or write will be in this format. If you are not familiar with it, this link was given to our class by the teacher and explains how to write APA. http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/
Hope that helps and good luck!!
