Watts School of Nursing June

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Wanted to see who else is going to Watts (Mt Olive) starting in June. I just got my acceptance letter today! Wondering who my fellow classmates will be!

Wattsstudent,

Thanks so much for the response...

I will look into that....wow, writing papers... I haven't been in "classes" in 18 years! Makes

me really nervous!

Thanks for the info!

Good luck with all your classes!

I wonder what other courses we can take if MOC accepts our credits?? Any ideas if anything is online or are all classes at the school?

AAndroes,

I guess I haven't posted enough to do PM's yet. I was really nervous too, but all of my professors so far understand the fast pace and have been very supportive to all of the students. Yes there is a lot of reading and lots of material is covered in a short time, but they understand that and assignments and exams seem to be tailored to making sure you understand the big picture. None (so far) have been very "tough" (ie specific names and dates aren't usually important, just the understanding of major concepts). I would definitely become familiar with the APA style that I mentioned before. All of the papers I have been asked to write (there are several for psychology if you have to take those classes) were to be done in APA style. The OWL website link should be very helpful. I am still working full-time and attending classes so I don't make it to this site very often; however, I will try and check back to see if you have any other questions I may be able to answer. Congratulations on getting in and good luck :yeah:

Wow, Wattsstudent,

Thanks for the info. Sounds like you're doing great! I will look into the APA style -

I'm lost on all that. Haven't written papers in decades, plural!

Good luck and thanks for any tidbits you've got!

AAndroes,

Another thing I forgot to mention. The Borders book stores are still open in my area, not sure about where you are, and they still had some medical reference books left. I actually picked up a few flash cards and books this morning-simple things like medical terminology and an anatomy coloring workbook that I think may be helpful. Because they are going out of business they were very inexpensive compared to what they usually sell for. If you get a chance, and assuming there are stores open where you are, I would highly recommend checking it out. If I think of anything else I'll let you know. Hopefully I will post enough eventually to do private messaging :)

Wattsstudent,

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't realize Borders was going out of business. I did

pick up some A&P books right after I passed my test and have been flipping through them. I have some good background terminology from my job too.

Believe it or not, right now I am more worried about having to write papers!

Thanks again.

PAPERS!!! Yikes!!!!

I have my meeting at MOC in the morning! I am so excited!

Good luck, FVcheer - it was not bad at all.

I'm in!!!!!!:yeah::yeah::yeah: Just got my letter today. Can't wait to meet you all.

Congrats, Tib!!

See you in June!

Ok, I am back. I got out of English, history, and psychology. I was really hoping I didn't have to do the math, but no luck! I am excited!!
