Watts School of Nursing June

Published

Wanted to see who else is going to Watts (Mt Olive) starting in June. I just got my acceptance letter today! Wondering who my fellow classmates will be!

You're going to have borrow one of Nelson's epi pens!

Just for your info Jeepers...I do not have any epi pens in my bookbag, so I better not catch you lookin in it, at least with your good eye!!!

I shouldn't be laughing....

I'm not allergic, or maybe I am! Been stung many times... I was instructing my wife how to perform an emergency trach!!!! Wife didn't get stung, hornets were almost 2 inches long and hurt like crazy!!!! My tongue swelled and we were 4 miles back to the vehicle!!! But yes it was awesome despite all this, thank God my airway didn't close!!!! I can see now which is good! Lol... And you can laugh, because I'm not dead!!! Lol

That all sucks - swollen tongue, pain........but why were you

instructing your wife (in nursing school) how to do a trach??

OH MAN JEEP !!! Sucks to be you!! Hope you;re feeling better:smackingf

U too red!!!!

Kenya- because she would have to do it with a pocket knife and tubing from our water filter!!! Make an X above the notch in your sternum... Insert tube, instant airway!!! Well, after much bleeding... Better than dying!

Anyone else with kids and working full time? I'd love to know what kind of study techniques you are using? Only time for me to study is after my child goes to sleep and then I am so burnt out I have to sleep so I can make it to work at 730. Any suggestions??

Well, I'm not working full time, but take care of the kids all day long, so might as well be working. I too only study at night till the wee hours... So, I feel your pain! I do try to take a short nap with the kids and that helps keep me up a bit later...

Red: hope you're feeling better!!

Jeep: yikes! Better you than me... I have to carry epi-pens for those since I'm crazy allergic to hornet, wasp, bees and fire ants. Glad you didn't need a tracheotomy. ;)

Lady,

Ever had to use your epi pen?

Jeep, So it's on your sternum, not up in your throat? hmmm, I've done

it wrong all these years :)

Glad your feeling better, Red!!

Is anyone still interested in the study group today???

Nope never had to use it, thank goodness!! However, the reason I had to start carrying it was bc I had ana shock with fire ants!! Rushed to ER, epi iv and whole deal...I was just a kid too, maybe 11 or so. Not a good thing!!

Wow, I hate fire ants!!!!
