Watts School of Nursing June

Published

Wanted to see who else is going to Watts (Mt Olive) starting in June. I just got my acceptance letter today! Wondering who my fellow classmates will be!

Yeah, I'm doing the a&p workbook - not too bad for the first chapter...next is

the chemistry chapter - uhgg. I have to go to my real work today..need some $$!

Suppose I should read over the history syllabus again and open the book before class Thurs!

Not Studying Jeepers.....Partying!!!!! What did you think of the A&P Teach???? I dug her, but the bell is going to take a little getting used to. Kills when you have a headache....:crying2:

By the way, have any of you inquired with Dr. Cawley as to the chance of beginning the BSN courses while in the nursing program? MOC is debating wether or not to allow us to take upper level couse loads during the summer breaks. If they allow it, we can knock out 8 of the 17 courses required for our bachelors. Lobby her for this.....the upper ups have not made a final decision on whether or not to allow our taking of these courses without declaring the BSN major, or if they'll allow us to do it concurrently with the RN program. It is set in stone the no classes on top of nursing classes by watts...period...... but we still have the summer!!!! The more students that express interest in this, the greater chance of getting it approved.

Just a thought.:)

I hate the thought of sitting on my butt for almost three months every year during the summer.

Hmmm... good point Tar, should we just email her? Dr. B seems entertaining, i like the interactive stuff... but i agree about the bell!!!! ding ding ding ding ding ding di... ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!! i was planning it's demise even before our first break...

I sat down with her for about two hours figuring out a way to get around school protocol and what have you. She agrees that there should be a way to do this, and with our class being the first group offered the degree, then we need to shape the program. The four accredidations are just about complete and it shouldn't be long before a preliminary schedule of courses will be available. Definitely before summer!!! Just email her and say that your interested in just what we've discussed. The more the better. If all of us who are wanting to go on and get our BSN's step up and push this, we should get some kind of action. Just don't know what that action might be.:D:D

ok, i'll start drafting an email... we're the first being offered this??? cool... i HAD planned on getting my CNA and working the summer, but if i can get my BSN faster... then it'll be worth it!

Thats what I've been told...We are the first class to roll right into the BS program....If we want it! I guess with all the leg work that has to be done, it won't be ready for at least a year and a half. So....BAM , that would be us. Makes sense if you think about it in a backward, superly duperly kind of way.

hmmm... superly duperly???

my only concern is that they would change their minds about classes needed... i really want to do this, but can't afford to take the chance that oops, we want THIS class now...

c'mon Tar! put down the Mai Tai and focus!!!!!

Yeah, that was a valid concern of mine too. I just ripped off a letter to **** inquiring about the possibility of declaring a "double major" with BSN as the final goal. MOC already is granting us with a ASN right???? So why can they not allow us to enlist in the BSN program early. Once in, course requirements shouldn't change. that is what they are deciding right now....What exactly do we have to take following our RN to qualify for the BSN.....That idea only works with Watts students though....obviously. I also said it would behoove MOC to sweeten the BSN pot for us with some sort of unique program like this as there are just short of a billion RN to BSN programs out there looking for students.

true, there is a million programs... all from the comfort of my living room, however! if i don't have to wait then i'll jump on it!!!

Exactly......Can we say HUUUGEE selling point!!!!:idea::idea::idea::idea:
