Watch with sweeping second hand

Hi:

I am starting my ABSN program in January and we are required to buy a watch with sweeping second hand (one that moves silently without clicking/ticking). I looked on Amazon - there are very few choices and for those few reviewers say they are loud.

Can someone recommend a good watch with sweeping second hand that is actually silent? And where did you buy it?

Thanks so much!

I got a kid's Timex watch for $20. Analog watches are hard to find and much more common in the kid section. The one I have looks very grown up and fits my small wrist. If the strap is too small, you can buy a new strap.

Thank you, Staragate. And where did you find that watch? Wal-mart/Target? Thx.

Went through a handful of watches recently. $60 Swatch Watches ("once again" & "twice again" models) have one of the loudest second hands ever. Both the black one I bought and an older white one a fellow student had :(

Good news is that many other watches are probably just as silent as the 10$ Casio "Women's Classic Round" I just bought (small and thin). I also wore two different Freestyle models. Those were also silent as well, just too bulky.

With the $60 Swatch watch when I was in an empty room, I could hear the ridiculously loud second hand ticking. Some people may not care, but I rather not have a loud ticking watch.

I haven't pain more than $20.00 for a watch in years - they are always getting lost, broken or wet - Walmart has lots of stylish off brands though right now I am wearing a water resistant Timex that cost me $10.00 and has been in use for almost a year. Funny thing is people love it - I have been asked over and over where I got it, how much I spent for it etc.... I even had a patient offer to buy it from me for $20.00.

Hppy

I wear a Citizen Eco-drive that doesn't tick, which is my everyday watch (not just for work). They can be pricey, but we bought mine at JCPenney on sale. My emergency backup is a cheap Timex from Wal-mart.
