Was this a good idea?

Published

I went in for an interview at my dream job, everything went well but I asked to shadow to see if I can really do the job. After the shadowing I sent an email as the manager requested as to how the shadowing went. Here's when I hear nothing back. It's been a week now and despite sending 2 emails after the shadowing I've heard nothing back yet. Does it normally take this long? Should I call to follow up?? I'd love this job!

Was it a good idea to ask to shadow? what's happened that they don't reply now?

Either I am having deja vu or this exact post was posted before. Reach out to human resources as they will have the most up to date information on your application and the status of this job posting. Managers are busy and that might explain why you have not heard anything.

Best wishes.

Also, if you're in the U.S., it's a holiday weekend. It may take a bit longer to hear back from people.

I always think a shadow shift is a great idea but I'd lay off continuing to contact them because you are going to come off like a pest. Although it drives me crazy these things can take some time and you will need to be patient. Good luck!
