I have a problem and I feel rather stupid to come here about it but here goes anyway. I have long standing spinal problems not sure this has anything to do with it but their you have it.
The problem is I have a problem with my tail bone area. Not sure what to call it coccyx area maybe. Anyway right above the bottom crack I have developed another crack cleft or some such. Sort of like an extra butt crack but smaller and higher like at the base of the spine. It is excoriated feels numb and tingly to the point of being quite painful. I am not bed ridden I work full time so it isn't a decub forming but I dont know what it is. I know I have treated something similar before on a pt. but can't for the life of me remember what the problem/cause was or how we treated it.
I see so dang many MD's and specialists as it is, I hate to go to the MD for something as little as this. But it really is becoming quite bothersome. Any ideas what this could be or how to treat it?

Could be several things. However, I think you will need to see MD to get proper diagnosis. Good luck.

You may have the beginnings of a pilonidal cyst. Do a search and see if this is what it sounds like. They can be quite invasive, so it is worth checking it out. I have had patients that required surgery that left a hole the size of a softball and needed packing and months to heal, so don't let this slide. Check it out.
