Wanting to write a letter to teachers.....help

Published

Hi Ladies. I am starting my first year as a school nurse. Sooooo excited :)

I had a question. I would like to write a nice "hello" letter to the teachers in the school. I wanted to start on the right foot. Any advice about what to include in the letter.

Any advice in general about elementary school nursing?

Also, has anyone had a student with Marfans syndrome. I understand the disorder, but what im curious about is the physical restrictions they had.

I'm assuming the letter you're writing is en masse? As in, not personalized to each teacher?

I'd keep it simple and introduce yourself, perhaps give some background on when you graduated and your work experience, and then say you're excited to be working with them and tell them to feel free to talk with you if they have any concerns about their students.

On an unrelated note, this isn't 1950. There are plenty of men in nursing, and I'll bet they'd like to be greeted in your OP as well.

LOL...Good point ;) Hello Gentlemen as well.

Thank you for the reply!

The most helpful advice you can give them is...."Don't hesitate to send a student to the clinic....just don't send them with any instructions from you." For example, "Go to the nurse and get an ice pack" - Instead, "Go to the nurse."

I love that phrasing and will definitely include it in my spiel this year, thanks Dude!
