I am an American that grew up overseas and would love to expose my children to the world. While searching for overseas opportunities I have come many in the UAE. I would love to try EU first since I am a single mom. Does the UK actively seek US nurses with experience? Has anyone done this that has advice? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

The issue with the UK is finding a employer willing to go the work permit route with you and for that currently the job is required to be on the shortage list and in demand. Preference is given to UK and EU citizen first making it harder for people not meeting that criteria

Unless you have a citizenship with an EU country, it's very difficult to get hired in the UK. There are shortage lists in which you could possibly qualify, but I believe at the moment it's only for OR (theatre) nursing and NICU nursing.
Wait 10 years for the economy to get better and the older generation retire? Sorry : (

Hello, I have the same interest, meaning I would love to move to Europe. Was thinking UK or Ireland. My story is as follows: I am a Romanian national have been living in the States as a resident for the past 7 years and have recently graduated Nursing School, got an RN license in CA. Would love to move to Europe since i don't have any family here and i am actually finding it hard to land a job as a New Grad. In my area (Los Angeles) unless you have inside connections at a hospital your resume goes into the trashcan.
Any advice for me?
Thank you
You have to have at least a year's experience in order to be registered with the NMC having been trained on the outside. Do you have a BSN? They don't accept ADNs, unfortunately. When you say you are a Romanian national--do you have citizenship with Romania?
Thank you for replying :) Yes, when I say I am a Romanian national I mean i am a Romanian citizen.
Are there any countries in Europe that would accept ADN degrees? or ALL have as a requirement BSN?
and if they only accept BSN are there any countries that would offer continuing education to make up for what they consider the ADN is lacking?

Each country has differing requirements you would need to contact the nursing board for each country, bearing in mind the different languages. If you can only speak English you can only realy work in the UK or Ireland.
Ireland does not accept ADNs either. I don't think that the UK or Ireland would have the continuing education that you require as the nursing curriculum is completely different.
