Specializes in Operating room..

OK, I need some advice. I am currently an OR nurse (LOVE doing this!) and am currently back to school to complete my BSN and then my MSN. I had wanted to get my NP and remain in some capacity in the OR (but due to the whole DNP thing I wont be able to finish before 2015). So I am at a loss. What do I do?? CNS? Management (please no)? I don't know. I want my MSN and want to remain in the OR in some capacity but am confused as to what is available to me in that capacity (not interested in CRNA because I can't take 2 years off for the program). Any suggestions? Thanks!

There are NPs that get first assist and stay in the OR with a surgeon.

Please dont be concerned about 2015. There is no definite change, no mandate, no nothing.
