I go to school at a community college in KY. We do not have a waiting list. Everyone applies, and they make decisions on who gets accepted based upon a scoring system that takes into account your ACT score, GPA, and amount of required classes completed. They just start at the top of the list and fill available slots. If you don't get in you can work to improve your score and try again next time. It really takes about a year to actually start the program because of pre-req's, and the fact that you have to be on the CNA registry, but there is no "waiting list".
Good luck
I know a school without a waiting list or lottery system. But they go by GPA and TEAS SCORE. When you apply once and don't get in, then you get to apply again up to 3x I think. No lottery and NO waitlist. They go by highest grade point average. Remember, you're going up against people with 4.0 and at least 90% on a TEAS score.
LIKE I SAID NO WAITLIST -- BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE GRADES FOR IT.
good luck :)
If you have the grades for it, a lot of private schools can be very financially appealing. I know a ton of grad students paying barely anything...
private schools have more resources (i.e., $$$) for students with demonstrated financial need. Of course, as with the others, you have to be an excellent candidate for matriculation. :) Best of luck! xo
I am a second year ADN student at a community college in Elizabeth City, NC. People are selected based on a points system (GPA, HOBBIT Test, and Prerequisites Taken) You also have to have your CNA Cert before started the Fall semester. We don't have a waiting list but there always more people applying than gets in. There is usually a few alternates, if someone doesn't get their CNA or CPR done by the deadline, and alternate would be picked up. I love this school, it has a great repuatation with local hosptials. The teacher are wonderful and they really want you to succeed.
