Good job!! I myself worked at an accounting firm for four years... coincidence...Lawyers and Accountants (all the same to me haha) boring yet it paid the bills.... Well good luck with your nursing endeavors, I start my program Spring 2010 and I am finished with all my prereqs this semester now... the waiting begins...
Good Luck again~

i've been stalking nursing for a while and now ready to get 'er done.
that made me seriously, for real lol!!
i am in the same boat as you all! and you ladies are right around my age, which is such a comfort. i feel like i'm in between: a little past those 18 year olds who have their act together and know exactly what they want to do, and a little before the more mature students who are brave souls and take the inspirational leap into a new field! i'm so glad i'm not pickle-in-the-middle alone.
i too have been stalking nursing. i got my ba in linguistics & spanish, then my ma in linguistics, and then i realized, d'oh, i don't want to be a professor and have to live in the middle of nowhere for my job! i'm going to start on my pre-reqs this summer. after that, my partner and i are moving back home to pennsylvania--his job brought us here to oklahoma--and i will for-realz-though start a nursing program. hopefully all the credits i want to transfer will transfer, and all will be well in the world!
good luck to all!
Me too!!! Am starting pre-reqs in April and hopefully will get into the Fall 2010 part-time program for LPN. (As a child I remember wanting to get into healthcare....and as a teenager I remember the advisor in highschool talking me out of it cuz it was a long time in school.....(I was discussing a dr).....but here I am 37 years old and still wanting to be there.....so here I go!

i have my ba in legal studies. worked as a paralegal for 4 years. hated it! in jan of 2007 i became a substitute teacher and began steps to become a teacher. passed subject exams but because of budget cuts and my lack of formal education and knowing people in the school system, 2 years later no job. plus i had a 2nd grade class all to myself for 6 weeks and was so glad when the assignment was over!
this was more of a temporary, i-need-a job-best bet-fix, not something i wanted to do. i'm also in school now for a ma in elementary education. distance learning is so not for me. i
everytime i sit at the computer to complete an assignment.
so... back to my first love. i love science. i love the human body, learning about it, healing it and yes, i'll admit poking at it (hehe). i've wanted to be a dr/nurse/medical worker since 6th grade. i'm so excited. now i just have to figure out where, when, and how to fund it!! ...so here we go...life is too short! i want to be a nurse when i grow up. :nuke:
