walk thru states

I live in a compact state & am thinking of doing a travel assignment in the fall. Which non-compact states have walk thru for license?

I am sorry, but google is an excellent tool to begin your research. That's what majority of the posters here will respond with, googled results.

well aware of google & can ask recruiter as well, just thought I'd throw it out there. Thanks for stating the obvious. Google could answer a lot of questions posted on this & other forums but sometimes it's nice to interact with others, no?

I can tell from the tone of your post you were offended by my comment. But, I am stating the obvious...Most of the resources you will gather from this type of question will be googled information. So, why waste time gathering public information from commenters? It's always nice to interact with individuals, and I am more than willing to assist if this had been a question that I thought could benefit from inside sources, rather than a general broad question.

No harm intended..

i know that some of the walk through states are also considered compact states. The only one that is not on the compact state list or multi state list is Vermont. Other states you just need to apply for a license which is dumb if you ask me. Where were you looking to go?

Love to get to Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Hawaii and San Fran. Hate having to jump thru hoops & pay fee for the same license I have now!

Walk through states are HI, IN, MD, MS, SD and RI

To add to that list of non compact walk though states are DC, M0, SC, VT. HI, IN, MD, SD are correct. RI is now compact and is no longer walk through for anyone else. CA is semi walk though if you visit CA in person and do the live scan several days before. If the stars are all aligned, you can then walk through on a single visit to the board. More details on that process, and the process in every state can be found on the board list on PanTravelers.

California is a walk thru state.

No, CA is not a walk thru state. It took me a week to get my temp license even though i flew out there to get my livescan done.
