Walden FNP or Spring Arbor FNP??

Published

Hello Nurses,

I got acceptable for the FNP program at both Walden and Spring Arbor, I will like to know your opinions about these schools.

Kindly comment on any of the program if you are or know anyone in any of the programs

Really need help to decide on which one to choose.

Thanks.

Specializes in ER.

I'm in Spring Arbor University. One benefit is that I found that the clinical pace seems to be better in terms of having 5 clinical semesters compared to a lot of programs that attempt to squeeze it into 3 semesters. I don't like how they do the capstone projects but overall I enjoyed the other classes. Some people who were out of state were happy that Spring Arbor University is a real university and actually had a campus.

In Michigan and northern Ohio, Spring Arbor University had a name for being a university that worked with associate degree nurses to allow them to earn their bachelors. Back then, it was a program that allowed nurses to go to campus once a week. Now, I think it's online but that is because the format and preference has changed. They are working on starting a traditional BSN program too.

The adult-geri program had a 91% pass rate on the first time a year or two ago back. FNP is too new for a pass rate yet.

Am starting class this month with spring arbor
