Walden FNP class schedule

Updated:   Published

Hello ,

For those who are in Walden's FNP program I am wondering if its possible to take evidence based practice(nurs6052), inter professional organization (nurs6053), and advanced patho(nurs6501) all in one quater or would I be setting myself up for failure .

I work full time and I am a single mother but I would like to take health assessment and pharm together. If its too demanding I will end up having to take pharmacology by itself before beginning the practicums portion .

Thanks

research is very intense. its not hard but a lot of busy work. i believe it can be taken with leadership but not with patho. it depends on how busy you want to be. i took research alone. i am currently in leadership and patho now

You know you and others have states that EBP was the most time consuming class . I could take that alone and end of taking health assessment and pharmacology during the summer since I will have more free time. Hmm thanks for replying to my post any bit of info is helpful ;-)

@REDvelvetRN when you get into classes such as patho, pharm, assessment are there less discussions and more tests = less writing ?

Nishacat03, I'm currently in the practicum portion of this program. The load never gets lighter...in courses that ur also taking quizzes, u still have the same amount of post that ur responsible for as well as papers. Once you get to clinicals, ur still adding to your load..u then have, very detailed post, weekly quizzes, papers, soap notes, logs, etc.... Not an easy program, but doable with dedication... Good luck to u..

Oh, I worked FT until I started 'advanced pathology, assessment and pharm'. I then went to two 12's.. Since starting clinicals, I'm PRN.

NurseMeco,

Boy was I being very optimistic to think the writing aspect would die down further in the program . Thank you for responding to my post and addressing many of my questions regarding this program . You and the others have really helped me learn what to expect during this program and how to possibly prepare for upcoming classes. Thank you and everyone one else who has answered my questions on this forum

I am Walden's NP program as well! I love it! I was wondering if it's survivable to take Patho and Health Assessment together...I work as well as teach clinicals......Any thoughts from anyone in our program! :)

I am in the FNP program at walden, i am currently taking research alone, next quarter i am taking leadership and patho..... research is a lot of work so i am happy i took it alone

FNP student at walden.. any thoughts about taking assessment and pharmacology together.. is it doable?

I was supposed to start in June but they moved my start date up to December 2. Do I just follow the program of study form? If so, I will be taking Foundations and policy and Advocacy together.

I took Foundations and Advocacy together. Foundations is a six-week course. Dec 2 I start pharm and assessment.

I just fininshed Leaderhip and Patho. The reading load for patho is heavy and there are several assignments, but together they are doable. Patho took much more time for me (even more than the Research class).
