Wake Tech Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi guys,

I want to apply to Wake Tech Spring 2021 nursing program (Raleigh, NC). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have not been able to register to take the TEAS because the school is closed. Does anyone know when Wake Tech will open, so we can take TEAS test before the deadline of July 31, 2020?

Is the TEAS test hard ? What do you recommend to study ? And how did y’all study to get a good grade ? I am applying to the Spring 2021 for nursing so far I have 148 points without the TEAS & I am so nervous ?

Hi Nancy!

Study enough, and you'll do great! For the Math section, I recommend Brandon Craft Youtube channel; Anatomy and Physiology Crash course on Youtube for science section, and Carolyn McAllister for reading and language section. Also, make sure you join the TEAS Study Group on facebook; there are a lot of great resources here too! Good luck!!

Anyone know when letters will be sent out?

Hey. Has anyone heard or received any information about when letters may be sent out? Thanks everyone.

Hi,

I'm not sure when we will hear back, but I'm guessing it'll be after October 1st since that's the last day to submit official TEAS scores.

Hey there!

I applied for the July 31 deadline. I wrote to HSA to ask when they think we will find out admissions decisions, and they're saying December. Later than I thought!! Just so you all know.

Wow ! That’s so late . Doesn’t the program start January??

Yes, starts in January! I'm guessing it's because we all have to be CNA certified by December 1? I was assuming they'd make decisions after factoring in our TEAS scores due Oct 1 and then revoke our admission if we are not CNA certified by Dec 1 since CNA contributes no points. I don't really understand why they are waiting until December seeing as will total our points after Oct 1, and it isn't like there are any essays to read or anything else in the application that is time-consuming. Oh well. Now we wait.

Exactly there are so many other solutions they could do instead of making everyone else wait for the few people that the CNA thing applies to. We need ample time to get all of our shots and clinical stuff completed. The school is gonna go on break halfway through December so what about orientation and the Med calc review??? Sorry I’m a little upset LOL

The CNA thing is a bit of a mess right now because Wake Tech cancelled all of their testing. It's practically impossible to find any testing in this area. In fact, I am traveling 1.5 hours away for my exam. But yeah, it has nothing to do with the point system, so why wait? And what is the Med calc review?

That is frustrating! I have to pick up shifts at work while having no idea whether I will be in school in January??

They should let us know where we stand based on points and accept us under the condition that we are a CNA before the start of the program.

Yeah, leaving us with a couple of weeks between acceptance and beginning the program is a little hairy. I find that hard to believe. Hopefully the person who  responded to my email has incorrect information.

That also leaves them with essentially no time to accept alternates.

Yeah that’s leaving us no time to give notice to work, find childcare, get all of our medical stuff complete or order scrubs and textbooks. I just can’t imagine this is the solution they came up, who did you email???
