Hi guys,
I want to apply to Wake Tech Spring 2021 nursing program (Raleigh, NC). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have not been able to register to take the TEAS because the school is closed. Does anyone know when Wake Tech will open, so we can take TEAS test before the deadline of July 31, 2020?

Hi, I've already taken the TEAS but I want to retake it. I looked into taking it somewhere else but couldn't find anywhere local that was offering it. I'm starting to stress because they haven't released any information.

Hi Caroline,
They posted new information. I am looking into taking the TEAS online at ATI, since they are now offering this option. They are extending the TEAS deadline submission to October 1, 2020, but you still need to submit the nursing application by July 31, 2020. I filled out the application (except the TEAS information since I haven't taken it)and I emailed it to [email protected]. I was told I could email it to them once completed. This is a post highlighted in yellow on their TEAS page. You can find it here https://www.waketech.edu/admissions-aid/credit/health-sciences/TEAS/essential
Wake Tech TEAS
Due to COVID-19 precautions, Wake Tech will not post seated exam dates until further notice. Please check back for future TEAS exam dates. You can choose to take the TEAS exam online with ATI. Please visit the ATI testing website atitesting.com for more information regarding taking the TEAS exam online at ATI.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR July 31, 2020 CLINICAL NURSING, RADIOGRAPHY AND MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY APPLICATIONS: Due to the lack of testing centers, students will be given until October 1, 2020 to submit official TEAS scores. However, students must still submit their clinical applications by the July 31, 2020 deadline. You can contact the Health Sciences Admissions and Advising team at [email protected] if you have questions.

Hi everyone! I am also interested in applying for the program for Spring 2021. Out of curiosity how many points are you all applying with?

Hi!
At the moment I have applied with 157 points (excluding my TEAS). I take my TEAS next week, so depending on my TEAS score I might be able to accumulate more points. How about you?
I don’t have that many points, I’m taking BIO 169 and BIO 175 in the fall, so I’m applying without 2 higher point values. I will likely have to wait to get in until next fall but I figured it would be worth a shot to just see what happens.

It's definitely worth the shot! ?
I am applying with 135 and I'm nervous I won't get in. I know they recommend having 140 or more. I may retake the TEAS because I was 1 point away from the next range.

157 is amazing! You should definitely get in with that!

I did the same thing last semester. I applied with 123 and was just below the cutoff for alternate. It's free to apply so why not!

Thank you so much! It has taken me a while to finish all my prerequisites because I've only taken like 2 classes per semester, so I could get the highest grade possible and because I work a full-time job. I'm so nervous about my TEAS next week though. I'm studying so much, but there's so much to know! ? It's nerve-wracking. Go for it! Retake the TEAS to see if you can accumulate more points!

You will do great! Study the science section the most. I found it to be by far the hardest part. I'm scared I won't get in with 135.
Do y’all know if they have a set cutoff as far as points go for selecting alternates? I just started taking the science pre reqs this Summer and have done better than I expected, I took BIO 168 5 years ago and did horrible in it, the amount of information and style of studying needed for that content has always been a challenge for me.
"Thank you for your interest in the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Wake Technical Community College. We have many more applicants than we have clinical seats available so the competitive admission process was used. The students who have been accepted or placed on the alternate list to date have total points ranging from 172 to 129."
This is from last semester. I do not know what the cutoff was for accepted though.
