Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.
Okay ladies, I passed (challenged) my written and skills CNA exam!!!!!! I'm so very grateful for this website because I would've never known to register before the 28th of February as a challenger. I really didn't have time to take a six month course as I already feel my kids are neglected by my school work so spending the summer there was a no no. Thankfully rules were stated that it needed to be volunteer working hours and or paid. After Spring ski though 200 is required, the paid hours will still work just not volunteer. I constantly watched RMayer CNA skills you tube videos and lots of cna practice quizzes. My skills were (hand washing, radial pulse, bed pan, dentures and catheter care) I knew for sure I failed cause 3 other confident ones walked out for sure that they pass; however they didn't. One ran out of time and the other two had no idea why. However they had foot care, urine output, Peru care, stocking. Soooooo glad I can move on and focus on TEAS
Does anyone know if the information session you attend has to be within a year of the time you apply? I heard that the information sessions expire after a year, but was not sure if that was a year from the time you apply, or a year from the time you are considered "pre-nursing". I know attending an information session is part of "phase 1", but I was under the impression that once you completed "phase 1", that's when they would change your major to "pre-nursing".
Also, for those who applied already, or have in the past, did you have to submit a transcript with your ADN application? ... This question in particular is for you guys who already go to Wake Tech. I know students who don't go to WTCC would be required to submit a transcript.
I'm full of questions this weekend ya'll! lol Is it July yet? I'm so ready to apply!!
You don't submit a transcript with your application, those are submitted when you apply to Wake Tech, so that's part of phase 1. You just fill out the ADN application and then they check the transcripts they have one file for you! I am not sure about the info session part. I think it's within a year of applying. Maybe Ms Watkins?
Thanks APeregoy! I'll ask health science advising about the information session. I did mine online back in the fall, I haven't physically attended a session. I'm sure it's okay since they offer this option, but has anyone else done their ADN information session via blackboard? Do they offer seated sessions over the summer or only during the school year?
I did my info session online and emailed them the proof of completion right after, and they sent me an email back saying they would record my "attendance" When you take the TEAS you have your scores sent to the schools you list, so I just sent them to the school and didn't include anything in my application, they check your test scores. The CNA you have to fill out something on the last page of the application and its either the proof of finishing a CNA class or proof of working so many hours as a CNA.

I took my NA course at JCC and my NA II at UNCH... As long as you know the steps in that book you are fine for skills! Just study that book!!
