Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

Published

Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.

Yes that would be WITH teas points at 159 if I get the 12. I really hope these points are good enough at least this semester.

Laila34, I was going through some old emails that I had sent back and forth with my advisor about points and classes for the ADN program. Definitely follow up with someone about your BIO 169 class because I noticed that you said it ended 8/2. From what I understand I think points are awarded for classes completed by the application deadline (1/31 or in our case 7/31). Just want to make sure you get everything in that you need. Not sure if you could take your BIO 169 course earlier. Praying you get everything done!

Hey! Thank you telling me! I will definitely follow up on Monday. I thought that I would be good considering it's a summer class. Unfortunately, it ends in August. I sure hope that I'm ok. Thanks for your prayers!!! I'll update as soon as I hear something.

Passed my NACES!! Woohoo! My skills were: handwashing (of course), pulse, modified bed bath, ROM on the shoulder, and assist to ambulate. I wasn't as nervous this morning as I was thinking I would be! So glad to get it over with! Only thing left to do is submit my application!

Congrats CN_2bRN919!!!!! I'm so happy for you.

Congrats hun!! I start my class tomorrow and already ready to be done...lol!!! Happy resting :)

Congratulations CN_2bRN919!!

That's GREAT! 2BRN919.........we're ALL on our way. What's everyone going to do now besides sit and wait? This is going to be a long few months. I believe she told me after September she'll send them out. I think I will get the CPR done now at my job........study a little A&P, more CNA skills with a little PINTEREST!

Lol Jpeters247, sprinkle in some manicures and pedicures between your pinning and that will be me!! I think getting the CPR requirement out of the way is a great thing to do while waiting! I renewed mine about two weeks ago. I think besides the CPR requirement, everything else really can't be done until we're actually accepted (physical, TB tests, flu shot, drug testing, background check etc). I'm all about getting a head start on anything that I can!

Hi hun! I spoke with an advisor today about the above mentioned. She stated that ALL summer courses are accepted for SPRING 2017, regardless of course end date. After the course is complete, send official transcript to the health science dept. I'll probably send it to admissions also, just to be on the safe side bc that course is a requirement for graduation.

Hey ladies! I started my CNA course today and have completed handwashing and PPE signed off..Yaay! I also went ahead and had my physical, TB test, HEP B done last week. I'm getting my CPR cert this month also! After I'm accepted, all I will have to complete is drug testing and background check.:yeah::)

Nice Laila34! So glad that you checked on it! I wouldn't mind getting some of my stuff done like the physical and TB tests, but I may wait. I have a lot of that on file with WTCC from my CNA course, but I think some of those requirements have time limits. For example, I got a TB test done in October and I know they typically can't be more than a year old, so I'll probably just wait and get the other two done in the fall. Luckily thanks to the CNA course, I'm caught up on all my vaccinations; all I would really have to do is the TB tests and flu shot.
