I have a single tube mdf lightweight I believe.

MDFs are pretty good, but it sounds like you might have the cheapest one if it was $12. Finger crackle means it's pretty sensitive though, so maybe it is the holding technique.

It wasn’t the cheapest one, I know that, it ran about $40. I ended up getting a Littman because the one I wanted went on sale for less than $80!

So the practice questions for the math pretest, do you all think that the pretest questions will look exactly like practice questions that were given to us?

Question...I need to take Nurse Aide 1 to be eligible for the nursing program. But the certification has to stay current until the first day of a clinical. Is that right?? So, how am I to keep it active? Wouldn't I have to work as a CNA during that time? I am so confused..

I believe to stay active, you would need to work 8 paid hours every two years. But I guess you might be able to time it right to certify close to the time of starting the nursing program and you are certified for 2 years off the bat and wouldn’t need to work as a CNA at all. For example, I became a CNA in March 2016 and didn’t work until March of 2018 so I could keep my certification active. I continued to work part time as a CNA and am starting the nursing program this August. But I was still certified with the state from March 2016-March 2018 without ever working as a CNA. You may want to double check with the school and state in case anything has changed but I believe you are certified for 2 years before you have to worry about maintaining or re-certifying your credentials. Hope that helps!

You automatically stay active for 2 years ,even if you don’t work, and than in order for the license to get renewed you either have to work 8 paid hours minimum or test again. That’s what I did , my license was active for 1,5 years and than I knew I have to renew it and I found a part time job, now I’m active again for 2 more years

Gotcha! I’m attending nag wake tech also. So don’t I have to have the certification to even apply to their nursing program?

I'm not sure how it works in this case, because when I applied I was already done with my CNA class, sorry(
