Hey
Whatever you do, don't get down about it. I know in my area there are waitlists at every school. Last year, I did an internal transfer from the biology major to nursing. I got waitlisted until the next semester because it was full.
You CAN ask them where you are located on their list so you can figure out your chances. I would give them a call and see what the situation is.
Good luck!
Hey haleygirl,
Don't get discouraged yet. There is hope! In my class that started in August, we had 17 people from the alternate list that accepted a spot! There was only 2 people left on the list to call! Unfortunately, we have already had 11 people drop out of 40 people.
Just keep the phone handy and don't give up yet!! Good luck~
hayleygirl, I was also put on a waitlist. I called the school and they said that I was one of two people on the list. They said that people decline acceptance for lots of reasons. Some get accepted at more than one school and then have to choose one. Others have life circumstances that keep them from being able to join the program. I was also told that a waitlist can clear even the day before school starts! So, as disappointed as I was, I decided to plan is if I was accepted... started buying school supplies, comparing book prices, etc. Two weeks later, they accepted me!
Being put on a waitlist is not necessarily a negative thing! I wish you luck!
I was wait listed twice and did not get in I was accepted the third time that I applied. But I know for my class two students got in that were wait listed and both found out right before classes started. Good Luck
Yeah that! As one of the ones in her class who didn't get in and then found out 4 days before class started that I got in off the altenate list... it does happen! Don't give up.
Thanks for the info. I just don't know how to feel about being put on the waiting list. I'm going to call the admissions director tomorrow and see if he'll meet with me.
I really hope you aren't trying to set up a meeting to convince them you should be accepted. Not everyone gets in right away, some people get in off a waitlist. You can't have everything the way you want it. You pretty much need to suck it up and cross your fingers.

I just found out today that I have been wait listed for the Spring(2008) at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. I feel discouraged because I am not sure if there will be a spot for me.The letter said we could be notified as late as January 08'.
Has anyone here ever been wait listed and actually got in? Is there a number of people who declince acceptance? Let me know....
