Waiting to take NCLEX

Hello to everyone.. I've read alot of posts in here and I am nervous like the rest of you waiting to take the NCLEX..I am scheduled for the 16th of Jan. I thought about waiting to take it, but then I was afraid I'd forget some stuff from school..I struggled really hard in school and it was along hard year, but I made it by the grace of GOD !! So now I am going over the Saunders book, but my friend just took it and she said the Saunders didn't help..So now I am freaking out, I'm not sure how to study now..Also I was told that there are several fill in the blank questions !! I'm hoping not or I am in BIG trouble..Any advice would be helpful..Thanks

Hi everybody i'm at this forum and i am also waiting to test.i just sent out my application for my att and just waiting.I wanted to ask wat review books did most of u guys use?

My opinion is cover as many books as you can. I personally dont think one or two books is sufficent, but thats my own personal opinion. I have done saunders, kaplan, mosbys, davis, hurst review and one that was really hard but super helpful prentice hall. I have other books coming and a few more at home here I do with the cd roms. I have been staying up til 3am some nights and spending 4-5 hours at barnes and noble. some prob. think Im too serious.. which I am, but I want to pass and I want to go in there feeling good when Im done . plus knowing how much time Im putting in shows how passionate I am about my career ... so cover as much ground as you can, remember NCLEX is national... so the questions will be all over the chart ... be prepared, you will do fine ... hopethis helps ...

I also like most of you graduated 12/14/07, from one of the hardest VN programs in East Texas, Kilgore College. We started with 40 people & only like 23 graduated, its a major weed out program. Anyways, I got my ATT on 12/19. I was the first one in my class to set up my appt & the soonest I could get in was Jan 3rd. There are 8 testing centers within a 300 mile radius from me, I checked all of them. Most of my friends all went to work as GVN's with no problem. My job unfortunately would not let me work with my permit, I had to have my license 1st so I was very anxious to get in & take it. I was able to get into the closest testing center on the 3rd & I had to have my best friend drive me cause I was so nervous. I didn't study AT ALL!!! I am the type of person that feels like you either know it, or you don't. 2 days later I got my results & I cried I was so HAPPY!!!!! I am 31 yrs old & have known all my life this is what I am supposed to be doing!!! So, I just want to wish everyone the best of luck. Not everyone in our class has taken it yet, but as far as I know only 1 person has failed. She has to wait 45 days before she can test again & the board of nursing took her permit, so she can't work as a GVN anymore. & on top of that it cost another $100 to retest. I am sure she will pass next time though. Just don't get discouraged if you don't pass the first time. EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON & NOTHING IS IN OUR TIME, ITS IN GOD's!!!!!!!!

Wow thats EXTREMELY fast... it took for me from the time I graduated to receiving my papers a lil' over a month. And I didnt schedule NCLEX until Feb 8th. And I am studying every single day-yesterday literally I pulled a 12 hour day! ONce I get going I cannot seem to stop! I guess Im weird?!! But I would never feel that confident taking it w out studying... but kudos to you... Im an anal retentive person, almost too much to the extreme and super self disciplined, so in order for me to feel 100% I gotta keep plugging away. PLus you prob. learned more in school than I did ... I felt I also forgot a lot esp. with the lab values... just the other night I learned that when a pt. is hypoglycemic to give a glass of milk w complex carbs instead of juice to prevent rebound ... I had NOOOO idea! Im stoked on how much I have been learning... anyway congrats!! You never did say if you passed? Here in CA unfortunately there arent quick results so after 2.8 I have to wait 4 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! until I even know anything-Im fired up about that! CA of all states HELLO? Doesnt participate in fast results... go figure! hahaha
