Go buy yourself a non-refundable 6 month around the world cruise
that leaves the first day of class. If you do this you are guaranteed acceptance.....Thats what would happen to me anyway.
Best of luck.

There is another thread about this same thing somewhere else.
Here are some suggestions made there:
Get the prerequisite courses done as you wait-----unless you are completely done with ALL college work required for nursing school/degree?
Volunteer in the hospital or some place else where you can do good (and build a resume).
Take a nice vacation---you won't have time for it once in nursing school, really.
Enjoy the "free" life because nursing school does put a huge crimp on your social and family life, more than you know.
Work and earn the money you will need to get through school. Those were mighty lean times for my family and me. Save money to put a buffer there for yourself.
Wait a minute----- I read your profile and it says you already have an ASN and BSN??? And a diploma? Am I reading right?
Are you waiting to get into an MSN/NP/CRNA program then? If so, I would think you have PLENTY to keep you busy, alread---at least most employed nurses do. :rotfl:

So what schools have you made application to, and what are you studying?
oh i applied to 3 community colleges for their adn program and to sacramento state for their bsn program. On fall i will apply to 4 junior colleges, sac state, and to a respiratory care program also, hopefully i get pick this time.
good luck.

When I finished all my prerequisites, I took a CNA course and read as many nursing books, articles as possible. I just completed my first quarter of LPN school and I definitely agree with SmilingBluEyes about enjoying the "free" life and saving as much money as possible.

work up an appetite. you're about to be fed so much crap, it's not even funny. Care plans, nursing dx? what the? best piece of advice no one gave me: (WHEN you get accepted and get into the program) Shut up and just do it. Good luck. So getting back to your question...work up a good appetite.

I took an EMT-Basic course. I was out of school for awhile so it helped ease me back into academia and some of the stuff I learned helped a little in various classes (plus you may be able to pick up some shifts as an EMT).
