Waiting on a job offer

Published

I had a job interview at Montefiore hospital on Thursday and I believe the interview went well. They asked me some basic interview questions and 3 nursing scenarios of which I got one wrong but I corrected it after and they said good job. I got the first question about giving a patient K+ correct and everyone sighed in relief lol so I guess that was a good sign. Afterwards they gave me info about the hospital: pt to nurse ration (I didn't ask btw), how the hospital is transitioning to all computer charting and other things about the hospital. Then is was over. The nurse manager said I will be hearing from HR if I get the job. Now I'm wondering how long will it take for me to get an offer and if I don't get an offer do they still contact me?

Depends where they are in the process. Are you one of the first, or the last to be interviewed?

i try to remember to tell applicants when I'll be making a decision, but it's always ok to ask, what's the next step, and when a decision will be made.

most places will let you know if you're not selected, but it's not guaranteed.

Good luck

It's very hard to say. I have had many jobs because my husband was in the Air Force and we moved often. The scenario was always different with each place. I always tried to have contact with the nurse recruiter. Call her/him and you can get the update and info you need. They are the contact person you want to stay in touch with. I would usually get the nurse manager's email and send a follow up note saying thank you, etc. If you have the manager's name you can usually find the email on the facility website. Good luck, it's only Monday...still early I think.
