Waiting for a Job Offer

Published

i interviewed with the nurse manager on thurs and everything went well and was told that she would love to have me on her team. so, i asked if she's hiring me ( just to get a definitive answer) and said she does not have the official capacity and will forward my papers to the nurse recruiter. after the interview with the nurse manager, i bumped into the nurse recruiter and she asked me about the interview , i said everything went well, she then asked me if i have any questions for her (hr dept) and she reiterated the salary, orientation per our conversation 3 days prior the interview with the nurse manager. she said that she will call me friday or saturday being that she's going on vacation next week. today is sunday and i have yet to receive any call from her. i am getting worried. i am a new grad rn and that was my first interview. i'm not familiar with the process. can you tell me if this is customary or did they find a new candidate? i would love to work for this hospital, especially the unit. please advise. thank you in advance.

Same thing happened to me, the whole waiting to hear back to know if I officially got the job. I emailed the manager of the unit and the nurse recruiter and reiterated how I would love to be a part of the team and feel as if I could represent what the hospital stands for well. And asked the nursing recruiter on the status of the job I applied for. I don't think it's Bad to keep showing interest and persistence :) I ended up getting a call a day later to meet and accept the job offer

It's like waiting for to see if you passed or failed the NCLEX:(. I know the Nurse Manager said she would love to have me on her team but without that official offer from the HR/Nurse Recruiter, There's that little doubt. Well, hopefully I should hear from the NR next week after her vacation. I am very excited to work at this hospital, especially the unit I applied for:)
