Waiting to hear from HCC Coleman for Spring 2015 for ADN.

Published

Hello!

Applied to HCC Coleman for this spring 2015 and waiting to hear from them. Is there anybody who is waiting for the reply from HCC like me. It would be great to know anyone who is in the same boat as me.

thanks!!

I did today saying that enrollment for classes start on Monday at 7:45 and 8:15 when Ms. January arrives to

Work

I dint get the email, does that mean am not selected?

To be honest I'm not sure maybe she missed you or something. It's happened to others before you. You can ask on Monday morning just to make sure. I went over on Thursday and she was super busy and stressed that she was rude (understandable) she had a list composed when I checked with her and made sure that I was in it or not. I suggest either going over or calling early because seats will fill up and she will get busier through out the day.

Ok thank you so much, I'll do that.

Yea sure just be fast. Seats will fill up. Best of luck. I wouldn't sweat it their communication is not that great so you need to stay on them too like they will throughout the program :p don't fell bad it happens

I've called them several times already and all they would say is 15 August is their deadline. Hopefully they just missed my name. Am losing my sleep every night over this. Can't wait for Monday. Fingers crossed

I could register for the pharmacology class, does that mean am in, as long as I pass the class and other requirements? Or do we still wait for a conditional acceptance letter. I tried calling them but no answer.

Hey there! If you turned in your application, did all your pre-reqs and took the HESI (or TEAS) and passed then you should be fine. Take the class and wait for your conditional acceptance letter.

I had a classmate this summer who signed up for Pharmacology and was taking the class but turns out she never took the HESI so she had to drop the class even though she was taking it for a week. :/ So just make sure you have everything done and you should be fine.

Same goes for everyone. As long as you did all pre-reqs, took the HESI and applied (as in turned in your application to a counselor, and they took it from you) then go ahead and sign up for Pharmacology EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T GET AN EMAIL. It's better to have a spot for Pharmacology than to not get into the class just because of a missed e-mail.h

Here's the list with all pre-reqs: http://coleman.hccs.edu/media/houston-community-college/coleman-college/pdfs/admission-steps/RNSG_Fall-2014-15.pdf

So did anybody get to enroll? I had a bit of trouble but quickly went to the school to fix the problem. I signed up for W 9am-12pm with Rix....anybody else? And also does anybody know which exact textbook we need. This is my first time at HCC transfered from UH so I have no idea how to check. I want to start getting some reading done!

I did and I'm in the same class as you :) I got the book at hcc west loop. Don't bother at central :p it's called pharmacology connections to nursing practice second edition. I'm Ashley by the way :)

Hey Ashley! Looking forward to class with you then :) I'm Itzamar. Do you know if it has to be a certain edition & is it only the textbook we need? I might go buy it this week

Hello Izamar! :) I'm looking forward to having class together too. To be honest with you I'm not sure but I bought it just in case. I've been trying to get the syllabus but she has not posted them yet. I just took my class schedule to the bookstore and they directed me to this book. I have herd that there will be other books that she will recommend when it comes to calculations but I'm not sure about that either. I will feel better until I see her syllabus and also meet with her. I just got the book before they run out and it turns out to be the one we need if not I'll return it but it was a pretty penny though :p it does have an access code and from what the previous students before us have told us we will most likely use the code for online assignments. I'm just being cautious here lol
