Wait List for Valencia Community College?

U.S.A. Florida

Does anyone know exactly how long the wait list is for Valencia Community College??? I know they accept 120 students in the fall and spring and 80 students in the summer....I was thinking of applying there when I finish my pre-reqs and since they accept 320 students a year, I would think my chances would be good, do you??? :saint:

Could anyone fill me in on TEAS test scores? I applied for the Fall and I wanted to get a range for what scores would other people might have.

im applying to vcc's nursing program and have done all my pre-req's...now for the TEAS! -_- ..anyway! their waiting list is about a year from the time you apply.most students finish up there aa in this time . VCC is also one of the top 10 nursing prgrams in the country !!!

How does VCC notified you if you were accepted or not? is there a way to find out on the website?

u get an email in ur atlas ...if u applied you basicly accepted as long as you have passd the teas and met all pre-req's..its just a matter of when u start . i get to start summer 11 :D

I'm in for fall 2011 and I get frustrated everytime I think about the wait. Can anybody share their experience in VCC, is it worth the wait?

Everybody that's ever gone to vcc for their adn will say its awesome and well worth the wait. Imo, it doesn't matter where you get your associates from. Passing the nclex is what matters and, well, vcc, has a high passing rate. That's why I chose it. I start summer 11.

We basically only have 2 local choices anyway. Scc or Vcc.......oh, I mean ssc......lol. But yeah, I say go where you can get in the fastest.

(p.s. ssc is taking apps for Aug 11)

iv heard alot of positvie things about vcc's np...local employers actauly perfer vcc nursing grads over UCF's grads:)

Hmmm. That's odd. The hospital system I work for wants bsn nurses.......its the whole magnet hospital goal.

what is a magnet hospital? & this info comes from an employee at ORMC who says the hr dept LOVES vcc's grads and actauly DO prefer to hire them over UCF's new grads.

Thanks for the info, hope to see you both next year!

Do you know any specific reasons why employers have this preference? I am curious because I plan on applying to UCF, and Valencia is one of my back-up schools if I am not accepted.

I have a couple of friends who work for several orlando area hospitals and they say you can always tell the VCC students or grads of nursing from the other students. They have a very good np and are one of the few Nursing schools that have a very high NCLEX passing rate...I guess its the training. Maybe they come out better prepard to enter the workforce idk but a friend of mine working at ORMC who is also a VCC grad has said on numerous occasions that if its between hiring a nursing grad from VCC and anyother NP in the area almost always the VCC grad is preferred. If this program was compettitve , just by looking at some of the students who applied with me, it would be a HELL of a compettetion for a seat.
