Wages for seasoned RN's (10+ years)

U.S.A. Ohio

I'm in canton, ohio and am at the top of the scale at 28.35 for ICU, plus shift and charge. I'm curious what some other RN's are topping out at at their hospitals for either ICU or ER

THanks! :nurse:

Also--you you get paid any extra to have your CCRN (or ER equivilant)??

I am a new grad - almost, and that is really depressing to me. I just found out there is a cap to nurses salaries. That is so unfair. What can be done to change that? I am planning on getting a masters degree, do NP's also have a cap on their salary??

have you ever thought about agency.....alot of people on our unit work agency...here in cincinnati it is $40 to start.

Dont know what the seasoned nurses make but you know it will differ as you go to different parts of the Country, state, city...so many factors go into wages

thanks, but I can't do agency nursing for a number of reasons--nood the sick pay, vacation/holiday pay, insurance; plus I work in ICU which requires a certain degree of continuity of care.

Good idea, though...I'm just too old to not have benefits!

I just meant if you were working 3-12's then you could pick up one or two shift of agency. I work ICU also and we have loads of agency on our unit.

I work for my hospital plus I pick up 1-2 shifts per week agency.

It is just a thought. I dont just work on IU either..I also do M&S,Tele

Which agency do you recommend working for? I work a lot of OT where I am at now, and I could really use a change of scenery, not to mention, better pay:twocents: Thanks.
