Wages around the country?

Published

:nuke:I was wondering what CNAs in other parts of the country make.

The hospital I work for is starting this year's evaluation process. It is yet again a new process. I was told that they will be researching the wages of several positions to see how they compare. We may see some pay increases depending on what is found. I thought I would do some of my own research, just to see what I could find out. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I worked at a LTC that was union and the pay was $16.92 per hour per diem (means that you get no bennies except retirement). That place was the exception and was county run. I have no idea what the other places were offerring. When I worked in hospital, I was making $11.50 per hr.

I had at least 8 yrs experience at the time, but none in ltc.

In Chicago(and suburbs)I have made from $12-17 an hour. The most was made PRN in a ltc facility but my friend makes 13 base and 2-4 extra for nights and weekends.

most hh places pay 13-14.

I work as a patient care tech in a hospital. I have my CNA as well as basic cardiac monitoring class and unit secretary training, both are required for my position. I have over 8 years experiance and I make $22.10 an hour. My hours are 10am-8:30pm. On weekends I make $1.40 more per hour.

I started out in Vermont as an LNA in a nursing home making $5.75 per hour.
