WA State Nursing Student Getting her CNA

Published

Washington state nursing school students, I have a question for you.  I checked out the WA State Dept. of Health's website, and it looks like nursing students are able to apply for their nursing assistant certification early on in their nursing program. Do you know much about that process? Did you get your nursing assistant cert. while in nursing school? I most likely will start my nursing program in September and would love to work as a CNA up until I become an RN.

In the state I am Nursing students get a CNA certification as a normal/required part of the nursing program. It is not hard to get the certification; the school or program will guide you through the process.

Hi thank you for that information. Hopefully my school does the same. What state are you in? The only information I could find for the program I am looking at, was that a student qualifies to sit down for the LPN test after the 3rd or 4th quarter, but they didn't have information about CNA certification.
