  1. Hi thank you for that information. Hopefully my school does the same. What state are you in? The only information I could find for the program I am looking at, was that a student qualifies to sit down for the LPN test after the 3rd or 4th quarter, but they didn't have information about CNA certification.
  2. Washington state nursing school students, I have a question for you. I checked out the WA State Dept. of Health's website, and it looks like nursing students are able to apply for their nursing assistant certification early on in their nursing program. Do you know much about that process? Did you get your nursing assistant cert. while in nursing school? I most likely will start my nursing program in September and would love to work as a CNA up until I become an RN.
  3. Hi everyone! I'm new here Anyone else applying to WSU-Yakima for Spring of 2026? I am applying but am worried that I won't get in because of my cumulative GPA. I do have a previous B.S. (graduated in 2017), but I graduated with a 2.9 GPA. Though that GPA is low, I completed my 10 nursing prerequisites with a 3.77 GPA (prerequisite GPA) this past quarter. I also got an 86% on my TEAS. Should I retake them to aim higher? Also, I have just under 100 hours of healthcare volunteer work (NICU volunteer), and thousands of hours working in a position that was essentially a mental health case manager. My ultimate goal is to become a psychiatric NP in my community, which is Yakima. Thoughts on my chances of getting in?
