I recently applied for a job that was posted as 7a - 7p 40 hours per week. If you're working three days a week at 12 hours each shift, does that mean that you would have to do an extra 4 hours per week? I don't have a clue on this one.

I've worked a schedule with 3-12's and one 8 hour shift to supplement. That's 41.5 hours. Remember, it's less an hour for lunch, so your getting 11 hours a shift. It's possibly 44 hours a week, or the posting was written carelessly.

We work 3x12 and get paid for 40 hours. Hopefully this is your answer!

I think you will find that in regions of the country where nurses are in greater, relative demand, that you are more likely to get paid forty for 36.

I work 7p-8a which equals 39 hrs. per week which in my union is considered a 40 hr. work week for benefits. May not apply to you, hope it can help.
