Vonage Telephone Service

For those nurses in the USA who want to phone the UK cheaply.

I have recently signed up with Vonage telephone company and for $32 a month I can have unlimited phone calls local/long distance within the USA and to the UK. I believe you can also phone Spain and Italy too for the same price.

Plus they give you a number for your friends and relie's in the UK to phone and they get to phone your number in the USA for the price of a local call.

But be aware that this is over the computer telephone service, so if you lose computer service, you also will not have the phone service.

When it works, it is great; but when down, it is definitely not a goo thing. So make sure that you have strong cable service for the internet before deciding on this route.

Be aware that you can also use a service like Skype as well, and if both have computer service, then it is free and for no charge at all.

I agree that the internet access being out could cause problems but I can use my cell phone in that instance.

Skype is good but you have to talk via the comp which was not good for us.

With Vonage I can use the phone as I would normally. Anyway i will give an update after I have used it for a while

Just for information,you no longer have to talk via the computer with SKYPE-you can purchase a SKYPE phone and make your call as normal.

hi everyone!!i live in us/north carolina and my mom is orignally from england. we do have the vonage service as well and its great. we only pay$31.56 per month, i think its worth it to invest in vonage!!!

My brother in the US (NY) buys these cards from a local shop that have a a telephone number on then you put in a code that you get from scratching off the silver bit. He seems to make a lot of calls home for very little cost?

i used vonage for a year had cheap cable deal with no phone line vonage was 10 quid a month(unlimited uk phone calls included) and gave me a landlines i choose a manc number but could have had anywhere including a usa one.

we recenlty started using vonage and have had no problems with it only the installation and then we got 2 months free :-)
