You can go ahead and apply for the Visa Screen now, and no you do not need another set of documents since you have the same CGFNS number for both files.
Thanks. I'll apply for visa screen now so I can concentrate with my review. Once I passed, I can volunteer in one of the hospitals here to gain experience. :)
The Visa Screen only involves filling out the application and submitting the fee.............quite simple...... :wink2:
Not only filling out the application, you need to submit the complete requirements to be able to be eligible for the Visa Screen...
I really cannot understand the point of applying for a VISA SCREEN CERTIFICATE at this early stage when in fact the applicant has NOT yet passed the CGFNS Certifying Exam/ NCLEX-RN Exam and English Exam when the Visa Screen application explicitly states that the requirements are passing those requirements... Is it intended to save time? Totally ridiculous... The application would only SLEEP there on their file...and it would not be processed until all requirements are met...
THE ONLY LESSON I HAVE LEARNED from Suzanne:kiss and i will quote... "Things do not happen overnight!"
You cannot speed up things. There are no shortcuts. You have to go to every process.

Once you have a completes set of transcripts, it is perfectly okay to submit for the Visa Screen Certificate. True, you will not get the Certificate until you actually pass the exams, but they can get their review done. It actually does save time to submit it early. Only requirement is that they have a completed set of transcripts.
If someone is applying for NY, then it is quite easy to submit both applications at the same time to CGFNS.
This is actually what I recommend. For CGFNS to receive the scores, that is just the finishing steps to the process.
You dont need to hurry in applying for Visa Screen Certificate. What you have to do now is concentrate on your CGFNS review. After you take your CGFNS then take your English Tests. Either TOEFL,TWE,TSE series or IELTS. after you have passed all of this, you can now apply for visa screen. Remember, you cannot have your Visa Screen unless you pass all these exams.
I do not agree with that. CGFNS is still going to have to do their evaluation..many nurses no longer are doing the CGFNS exam route, so everything still needs to be reviewed..............as soon as the exam scores are in, then it is much quicker.
My students have always applied for the VSC at the same time that they submitted their documents to a BON for licensure. It is much easier to get everything done at once and not having to worry about it later on. And especially if you need the CES or the CVS, then just as easy to do it at the same time.

I'm set to take IELTS this December. I haven't received the CGFNS official guide yet so I'm using Saunders for my review. :)

I agree with suzzane that you need to apply for visa scrren even your still not taking the exam or in the process of taking the exam, as per experience,
I did not apply for my visa screen, now that I passed the CGFNS and IELTS, I am waiting for the visa screen evaluation, and another waiting again.so
I suggest, better apply now, to save time.

I called CGFNS a few days ago to know if I'll be taking the CGFNS exam this November since I haven't received any email nor snail mail from them. Fortunately, I'll be taking it. I'm planning to take IELTS this December. Can I apply for visa screen now even if I'll be taking the required exams later this year. Do I have to get a new set of transcripts from my school and another validation of license for visa screen? Thanks. :)
